IF has worked for me too. Unfortunately, I went back to my old ways after reaching my goal and gained most of it back. I'm back on IF and have lost 2 of the 8 pounds I need to lose. It's the easiest way for me to stay within calorie goals every day and still feel satisfied with what I've eaten for the day.

I usually don't have a whole day of "I don't care" but I have at least a couple meals a week where I eat what I want and make up for it by behaving the next few meals.

I've been doing IF 16:8 since July 25. I don't know if I'd do well on the 5:2. I hope it works well for you.

Two years ago, I lost 15 pounds by counting and logging calories. For nearly a year after I got to my goal weight, I maintained within just a few pounds without logging. However, I started to get lazy and into bad habits again. The weight started creeping back up, and now I'm almost at what I started before. I definitely…

I'm doing IF, but I'm on the 16/8 plan. My eating window is 12-8pm I'm going on my 3rd week. This has worked for me in the past. I wish I would have kept it up! What days are your fasting days?
-
Yes, definitely take pictures. Eventually you will notice a difference in the way your clothes fit as well. Keep it up and one day you'll be pleasantly surprised

Same thing happens to me! Keep logging!

So, I'm curious now. For those of you around 5'0", what are your daily calorie goals without exercise? I'm at 1400 a day and lose about a half pound a week (when I don't go over).
-
I'm 4'11". I'm at 115 currently. My goal is 105. Add me!

Do you like unsweetened iced tea? I find a big glass of that on ice in the morning during the summer is amazing. It really wakes me up!

I'm back after gaining it all back. Oddly enough, I started at the same time of year two years ago. I kept the weight off until about December of last year. Looking to lose about 8 pounds.

I'm back again as well. I was very successful in 2014 and 2015 losing and maintaining weight by counting calories with this site, but since I stopped logging, I gained almost all of it back. I'm really agitated with myself because I said I'd never let that happen. So here I am...again. My first goal is to lose 4 lbs by…

I'm finding out the hard way it doesn't work for me, but I'm sure it does for some people.

I weigh daily. I will start logging again if I notice my weight creeping up or if I start getting into old bad habits. So far, so good here.

I'm 4'11". Started at 120 and I'm now 103-105. I've been maintaining for two months. I lost the weight by sticking to 1400-1600 calories a day and changing a few bad habits. I'm now maintaining without logging, but I know I would have had a lot more trouble losing without counting.
-
NSV--I've been maintaining for two months without logging. I didn't gain over the holidays either. Happy me! Congrats on your loss, Holly!

I didn't see your post and just made one of my own with the same topic  Here are mine: 1. Write more--I like writing poems, stories, journaling, etc. I need to do it daily. It makes me happy. 2. Stop procrastinating/stay focused--I'm a real daydreamer and I need to stay on task with all my goals (big and small). 3.…

At 4'11", five pounds is a lot for me so I try to keep it within 3 lbs or less. My weight only fluctuates from day to day by a pound or two so if I'm up a lot, I know I need to watch it.
-
I weigh daily. It keeps me in check. This works for me because I don't freak out when I'm up a pound or two, but if I'm consistently inching upward on the scale, I know I need to watch my calories closer for awhile. I'm in maintenance right now and have quit logging my food for now.
-
I've been at my goal weight for about a month, and I just quit logging. I weigh in daily and I plan to log if I ever see the weight creeping back up. For me, it was all about breaking bad habits and making good habits.

Same food items, but smaller portions. Also, I always think it's a good idea to have a fresh salad in addition to all the heavier food to balance it out.
-
I don't. MFP has me at 1350 to maintain, but I lose weight that low (without exercise). My maintenance is closer to 1600-1700 average calories at lightly active.

My husband finds it boring and tedious. He'd never do it. He has lost weight simply by eating less often. That works for him, not for me. While he doesn't make fun of me for logging my food, he admits he thinks it's crazy. Whatever. Haters gonna hate, right?

I'm about the same weight as you (104.4 today), but shorter at 4'11". My weight fluctuates 2-3 lbs all the time in either direction. I keep track of my sodium really close and sometimes it takes up to two days after a high sodium day to go down in weight again (while maintaining the same calorie goal). I wouldn't worry…

I'm 4'11" and currently 105. I'm thinking my ideal weight is 102 or 103. So...you're probably just fine at that weight being an inch taller than me. I guess it depends on your body structure.

I'm 4'11". Current weight 105. This was my ultimate goal weight, but now I want to get down a few more pounds (102-103). I'm slowing down my weightloss by adding another 100 calories this week. I lost easily at 1400 per day (about a half pound a week). I'm at 1500 calories a day right now, but I assume my maintenance is…

I just replied to your post on the homepage news feed, but I'll tell you here too. I'm 4'11", 105 lbs and I mostly wear size small. Size medium for tops in the Juniors section. I'm kinda busty ;)
-
I'm adding gradually as others have said. I lose at a rate of .5lbs per week at 1400 calories a day. I figure my maintenance (without exercise) is around 1600. I upped my calories from 1450 to 1500 today. I'll probably keep at 1500 for a couple weeks.

I agree. Pictures reveal it all.

Well, I should add that I'm a bit annoyed that I can't find a pair of "dream jeans"
