Counting calories is the only thing that has ever helped me lose weight. Once I stop logging, I see the weight creep back on. This is at least my fourth time returning to MFP to lose weight, and I know it will be successful if I stick to the plan. I also have to remember when I finally do get down to my goal weight, I have…

Good luck to you! I am just starting again as well. I've been logging for about 3 weeks now, but just really got serious about it two weeks ago. Weekends are my downfall. I'm taking my goals in steps, meaning my first goal is to lose 10 pounds, and then I'll see how I feel about it. It's not a lot of weight, but it's not…

That's one of my issues with smoothies. I don't feel they'll truly fill me up enough to tide me over until lunch. The grain and noodle bowls sound good though. Easy to add extra protein or veggies also.
-
I would like to try Splendid Spoon but they don't have a lunch-only option and their only breakfast options are smoothies, which I don't really like. Their meals otherwise look very good.

I'm currently using Dinnerly. I like it the best of all I've tried so far. I've used Every Plate, but I found that a lot of their recipes were high calorie. Hungryroot was okay, but I got bored with the meals easily. There was a lot of repetition and they were a bit expensive compared to others.

Decrease bra size.

Summer weight gain is pretty much why I'm back on here. I just started logging and exercising yesterday.

A few weeks ago, my boss mentioned he's on the Mediterranean diet so I checked it out. I've been struggling with not eating enough veggies. I'm going to log my food while I use the basic guidelines of the Mediterranean diet. I think it'll work well for me as it includes all the foods I love.

Over the past year, I saw the weight I lost inching back on little by little. Yesterday I just felt horrible and frumpy and generally uncomfortable because the dress I was wearing was just a little too tight. I started logging yesterday, and I feel much better just knowing I'm getting back on track.

For me, it's really simple--my meals are too big. I tend to eat a modest breakfast, a huge lunch, and then a small dinner. Just cutting down half the size of my lunch every day, and I can maintain at a healthy weight.

I agree. They have so many good menu items, but they're way up there in calories. I won't let it be more than a once a month thing for me.

I have always had them regardless of weight or exercise. I used to be very self-conscious of them (and more self-conscious in general). Only one person, my ex husband, has ever remarked negatively on how I'm shaped (tells you one reason why he's now "ex"). Now I kind of like them or at least accept them as part of who I am…

It'll be okay. If it were me, I'd eat a nice big salad with low calorie dressing for dinner and start anew tomorrow.

Herbs and spices, but if they contain a lot of sodium, such as garlic salt, I log it. This way I know if I went way over in sodium and notice I'm retaining water.
-
That doesn't sound very good to me at all! When I'm in a calorie deficit, I feel hungry sometimes but never ever ill! :(

Yes. I basically skip breakfast. I'm not doing it currently, but I have in the past, and it really helps me stay within my calories. I'm not the kind of person who likes snacking a lot. I like big meals, so IF works perfectly for me. I mostly do 16/8 when I notice my weight inching up a bit. It keeps me in check
-
I often do Intermittent Fasting 16/8. It's not to "reset" anything, but it helps keep my calories low. Basically, I skip breakfast. There are many threads on MFP about it if you're interested.
-
For maintaining, I eat 2 to 3 meals and possibly a snack. Breakfast is the meal I either skip or eat low cal. I like big lunches and medium sized dinners so I often do IF to keep my calories in check.
-
I just add them to my log the same way I do food.
-
Any more than 2 over and I watch my calories more closely until I'm back at goal weight. I rarely go under my goal weight by more than 2 or 3.
-
Same as you, I found the scale creeping back up after getting too relaxed wihout IF and on calorie intake so I'm back on IF and logging to get back down to my goal weight.
-
If you like IF, just make sure you're getting enough calories later in the day to maintain rather than keep losing.
-
IF has worked for me in the past (16/8) and it's working now. I've found I don't even need to log in order to stay within my calorie limits (this may not be true for everyone). Just by eliminating food from 8 PM to about 12 Noon the next day, I stay within my goals. When I get into maintenance mode this time, I'm going to…

Apples and "light" yogurt. If I want yogurt I need the regular kind like yoplait or dannon original otherwise I'm totally starving after I eat it. It must be the artificial sugars they add to "light" yogurt. Same goes with apples. I have no idea why. You'd think they'd fill me up, but nope!
-
Logging my food has made me much more obsessed and worried about food than when I wasn't counting. I'm not sure it's a healthy frame of mind to worry about every calorie, but it's the only way for me to keep my weight down.

It's weird but I cannot eat chicken breast without getting an upset stomach. It doesn't matter who cooks it. However, I can eat the heck out of chicken limbs like wings, thighs, drumsticks. I have no idea why. I also avoid Chinese take-out. After eating it, I almost always feel an overall "unwellness".

Totally agree

Happened to me too. This time, I'm going to keep logging well past meeting my goal. I was so excited to get to maintenance last time, I told myself I'd NEVER revert to my old bad habits so I didn't need to log anymore. Unfortunately, I ended up gaining back almost all of it.
