  • I think the real question is what did we do before the 30DS . . . . No DVD will be perfect. But I hate doing my workouts from a DVD so i guess I'm not the one to ask. It does make it nice and compact time-wise, but if you have the time you could plan out a simple strength training routine to do with 10-15 minutes of cardio…
  • Interesting, in the past it was exactly the opposite. It just proves we should never allow ourselves to be defined by what others call us since evidently we may have no idea what they mean . . .
  • To be honest back in the day I believe . . . A geek had all of the social awkwardness of a nerd but not nearly as much of the intelligence. Nowadays, that is not the popular definition since being a geek has become a good thing since that time.
  • No its good now. It's quite popular to be a geek (or pretend to be). It's also popular to pretend to be a nerd . . . .

  • I don't know if any speed would be slow enough for me . . . I can't even read while walking! Makes me feel sick to the stomach. And I have the balance of a drunk chicken. Still its a good idea for those who can!
  • BUMP!! LOL Seriously I could never do that! Someone who is actually nice and muscular/lean answer!
  • Yep, a lot. I've begrudgingly realized that I can only go forward unless I want to remain the same/get worse/go back so . . . I keep on trucking. Doesn't stop me for having moments like today when I wished I wasn't alive. I don't want to kill myself precisely. I just don't want to live life. I don't like it. My life is…
  • I have them but not in my regular athletic shoes(I buy those with pretty good arch support) . . . I put them in my winter (flat) boots AND my winter (higher heel) work boots b/c I wore those so often and they did WONDERS for me. My arches aren't particularly high but they seem to need the support. Edited to add: My insoles…
  • Good to hear . . . I'm still trying to get myself to do the strength training. I used to do some lifting (New Rules of Weight Lifting) but that was years ago. My main problem is I can't afford a gym membership and its hard for me to get in the zone at home :( I know I just need to suck it up. (plus I'm lacking a lot of…

  • I don't know IMO he is being ridiculous. I suggest you enforce your threat. Let him deal with his own food--cook for yourself, hopefully he'll realize he does't like that set up. That will probably skyrocket the food bill for a while too, but if he realizes he is being unreasonable then maybe he will bend? Another idea is…
  • It's great that you've increased your calories and lost weight! But am I the only one who feels glum when people talk about 1200 to 1500 calories like its a boat load to eat . . . when I want so much more . . .
  • ^^^^^What she said!
  • Very frustrating. Especially since even though people keep saying you didn't gain it overnight, you won't lose it overnight . . . well I'd be happy to lose it as fast as I gained it! The most recent 30 lbs I gained in under 3 months--not pregnant either. So I'd LOVE to lose it as fast as I gained it but no such luck. It's…
  • You probably don't suck that much lol. I have to say I had/have a mental block regarding push ups (so I didn't do them the first time I did a round New Rules). Of course after a couple months I quit . . . I let life interfere. BUT I did use a bench for step ups. When I first started doing them I didn't use weights though.…
  • You can still write it up and give it a manger the next time you are there. I actually highly recommend you doing so. This way if it DOES ever happen again . . . or worse, there will be a paper trail. Just note the date and approximate time it happened. When I was younger I wouldn't have done this . . . but over time I've…
  • I can't believe this . . . Proud of you for standing up for yourself though and keeping your temper! Still I would perhaps file a written complaint to the manager. I know you don't know his name but you could still write it up and identify him later. It's good insurance for if he every bothers you again--not to mention any…
  • ^^^This I've reduced the Iced Sweet Tea we drink (we do live in the south lol) from 2 cups of sugar per gallon to 1/2 a cup of sugar per gallon. At first I reduced it to 1 cup but found I could take it even lower and still taste the sugar as my taste buds adjusted. I mostly drink water but like to have a little sweet tea…
  • I used to use this but as a warning to anyone who struggles with flakiness it will make it much worse. I suppose its b/c it does dry up the oil. During the summer I will wash my hair everyday if I workout. If not, I try to let it go a day (I hate it but my scalp is sensitive). In the winter I have to wash every other day…
  • It's impossible to know really. But you could give the guy the benefit of the doubt and realize it may be that he's usually pretty absorbed in his workout too but only noticed you over time b/c you were there at the same time as him. I know that happened to me . . . I'd only notice people after our workouts coincided for…

  • I'm sure people could do it. If it was life or death . . . (unless they became suicidal and then death by icecream would be THE way to go). The point is that if it is a huge tortuous struggle every time why subject themselves to that agony when they can just not eat that first spoonful of icecream to begin with??? Again…
  • . . .When after days of serious family drama the thing that brings you to tears is your mother's suggestion that you might be plateauing in your weight loss . . . JUST HAPPENED!!! . . . When your husband looks in the fridge and raises an eyebrow "Think you have enough Greek Yogurt?" . . . but . . . it was on sale!!! LOL…
  • I recommend trying almost everything else before trying the Effexor. For most people, the withdrawal symptoms are bad and for many they are dehabilitating. I would recommend trying Buspar for anxiety before anything else. It's relatively harmless as drugs go for most people. Effexor did not help me at all really . . .…
