  • Well I have a MFP friend who has that many days! I know she's older, lost a LOT of weight, and has kept it off and stayed healthy - heart, blood sugar etc. I've been on MFP off and on for 10 years now ... but not 10 years straight!!!
  • Visit to my pysch who I see bianually and have for 8 years (he's a genuinely a sweet person) and I know he cares about my mental and physical health (though he has never mentioned my weight). "You've lost weight! Good work!" That all really he said ... but he just looked to genuinely delighted and pleased. My family…
  • You know I hate cooking and i have time management problems. I work hard to manage my time. Maybe just maybe consider that some people do have struggles that you don't have and that doesn't make them a lesser person. I do figure over time I'll get to the place where I can organize huge batches of food on the weekend. I…
  • I also weigh myself daily. If I don't it's like I forget I'm trying to lose weight. LOL But I don't let gains get to me for the exact reason you've stated.
  • Yeah, it totally irks me when people misspell irk.
  • There is a custom shoe place in Clarksville called Clarksville Runner's Hub. I just went there after trying to buy two different pairs of running shoes for myself--one a Hibbetts and then another online. It's quite a drive (not to mention gas money) for a pair of shoes though. My mother lives in Clarksville so I stopped by…
  • Cool, what else guys?
  • Thanks to everyone who replied! I have tried the "406 lb future me" trick and it usually works a little. I will definitely try drinking the water trick! Honestly I know a lot of this stuff but for some reason when I get hit with stress and want to eat every time I'm newly surprised by the strength of the urge. I mean, my…
  • How do you carry your pistol? Holstered? If so what kind. I've thought about doing this as I may be getting a small pistol soon.
  • Penny was much younger when this was taken. She's getting a white beard now, but I still love her!
  • I"ve recently developed shin splints. Before that it was illotibial band syndrome in both legs. The body really isn't too fond of extended running. I love running too though. Nothing gives me the same high. The weight is probably still a big factor. I've heard runners say as little as a 10 lb gain can make a difference…
  • It helps me workout like a boss! Which in turn boosts my metabolism. I don't think it really does otherwise though. It's also a diuretic which is important to remember since that can register as a reduction in "weight."
  • My sister's totally deflated, but her chest was never that big anyway. The trend seems to be if you are pear shaped you will probably lose in the chest area first. Otherwise its really an unknown factor. Everytime I lose weight it seems to come from different places. Hopefully this time when I lose weight it will be the…
  • I don't think anyone assumes you are taking the easy road, but what you are doing may be TOO hard on your body. If you want to bulk up the way to go is heavy lifting, more rest, less cardio, and more food (the right food). You seem to be killing yourself for no reason. You said that as far as rest days go you, "look at…
  • Quitting smoking is probably a high contributing factor. Try eating more complex carbohydrates. I eat a good amount of carbs, but I've had success controlling my hunger. One way is that I don't eat many refined carbohydrates, except occasionally at dinner I'll have a white bread roll but I also eat a large amount of…
  • One biggie? Don't beat yourself up! Move on and keep going--you aren't starting over you are continuing a journey. You know what? 2 days on and 1 day off isn't a bad start. When you get to 3 days on, well then, congratulate yourself. It make take a while to lose weight this way but the other choice is losing no weight at…
  • But is it putting his hands in his pockets????? That's they key!!
  • This I will give! Shopping thrift stores is alot of work! And time consuming.
  • Good! Then I'll get them for free when I go through the rich people trash! Score!!
  • Butter!!!! And I came to the same decision about bacon, in part b/c my husband won't eat turkey bacon but also b/c the calorie difference is not that huge.
  • Well its already hard to tell because all of our emotions feel very real. And yes of course its difficult to tell between "regular" stress and PMDD. But its important to remember they will automatically play off of each other. The stress will make PMDD worse and PMDD will make stress much worse. The other thing to consider…
  • You know it really is a huge over generalization to think that it was only an increase of carbohydrates and decrease of fat in the food sources of the United States that contributed to the obesity. Also consider the huge amount of processing and chemicals that have been added to the food most people eat. While its hard to…
  • Yeah but the truth is that because I am losing weight right now I am restricting my calories such that they ultimately create a deficit. When I am maintaining I will eat the number of calories to maintain my weight which will hopefully be far more satisfying. So while this is not a form of punishment I hope I won't live…
  • Right now. Yes. I've got it set at 1lb of weight loss. I eat back my exercise calories. I get in a good ratio of healthy carbs, fat, and protein. I try to space my "meals" well. Still some weeks I'm just hungry a lot. Physically I mean. Stomach growling and all that. Some weeks not so much. But mostly. Yes I am hungry.
  • YES That is all. No . . . really I think acknowledging it is a good step in the right direction. Then stopping the cycle when you become "AWARE" is another good step to attempt. I binged last night. I've been very anxious for the past week and its a struggle. I know that its in huge part b/c the mental stress wears down…
