I jogged 2-3 times that week...I felt like I had the energy, so I went ahead and did it. Don't think it really matters as running isn't working your muscles so hard like insanity...I still felt like I was getting a break from jumping, etc.

Is THAT why my elbow skin was peeling off last week??????????? From low planks?? I could NOT figure out why my elbows were both brownish and peeling! That is so funny. Never would have figured it out. Thanks! :)

When I finish, I plan to do 3 days of the Max workouts, 3 days of running each week. Figure that will give me plenty of cardio but with enough muscle work built in?? Mainly I don't want to buy another set of DVDs...they are so expensive. Is there some sort of workout video swap on MFP??

Oh, I disagree actually...I wish I would have worked harder from the first day. I think I was apprehensive and wanted to "save some energy for later in the exercise" and I am actually STILL mad at myself b/c I know I didn't get as much as I could have out of those first 2 or 3 days, and I'm in week 6. :) I figure if I'm…

I would be SO MAD if that happened to me!!!!!

I've been averaging around 1600 this past week, eating more during the day and less at dinner/evening. This has REALLY helped b/c I'm hungry and NEED those calories throughout the day...no more saving them for big dinners and after-dinner snacks. Definitely something I have to plan for as I'm not used to eating like this.…

bump will be taking notes later! :)

alcohol and lots of after dinner snacking!!!! i was always pretty good about making wise choices during the day. but after a beer or a glass of wine (or 3) it was munchie-city. :) and as we all know, you can ruin a perfect day after 7 pm.

I know what you mean about feeling like you run worse in the morning. I jog in the morning but when I first started, I found that my body didn't seem to do well in the morning...I would feel sore and stiff and it was almost painful. Like my joints weren't ready to go or something. But I just kept doing it and now I have no…

i must admit...i was sad not logging my exercise today!! i put it on as a note, but it didn't show me how many calories i burned. what a waste!!! :) think i'll do what you do.

Okay, I'm going to compromise with myself. Haha. I am going to make 1800 my goal...this is what the calculations give me for "lightly active", I know I should really do moderately or very, but oh well for now, gotta start somewhere. I'll try to eat 1800, not logging exercise...since I don't have a HRM anyway and since it's…

oh, yeah...i forgot about the calculator. the calculator says i should eat around 2000. i can't do this!!! lol. i mean i DO do this some days when i'm with family or friends...but i can't possibly do this every day!! i guess i need to listen to my body and feed it. why haven't i lost weight then????? am i gaining muscle??…

Honestly, it sucked for a long time...a month?? But as long as you do it a few times a week, you will improve quickly and feel SO AMAZING when you run farther than you have before. I suffered through because I had signed up for a 5K with a friend and I really didn't want to let her down. Is that something you could do? But…

Running is awesome. Unlike insanity, it is quite relaxing actually...once you suffer through the beginnings of it. :) I miss it...I've been running on my rest days and ahhhhh....it's so great. So I vote for running. I hated it at first and never thought I could be a runner...now I love it so much.
-
Wanted to add that 5 miles is A LOT. Maybe start with a 3 mile route and run what you can, then walk the rest??? More power to you if you can push for 5, but I've been running for a while now and I never go over 4 miles...it just takes too long.
-
When i started running, I mapped out what i WANTED to be able to run...ran what I could and then walked the rest. It worked really well for me. I knew the distance and got used to it. Then I'd run what I could...walk...then run again...etc...until I could run the entire thing. :) So I vote for that one...

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the amount of calcium you are getting. I know you can't overdo calcium from FOOD, but the calcium in almond milk is added...so I'm thinking it's sort of like taking a calcium supplement...which too much can, I believe, cause an increased risk of kidney stones and minor heart…

thanks everyone for your advice!! :)

thank you!!!

started week 2 today! :) anyone else not trying to lose weight, but trying to gain strength?? if so, friend me please!! :)

hi! i'll friend you! i'm in the same boat as you...what do i do now that i've met my goal?? i'm trying to set goals for toning and building a little muscle...just a little...i'm not actually trying to gain weight. i've been maintaining for about 3 months now, so not long, but it has gotten easier and more fun. focusing on…

i've since relaxed about it and just let my body decide (well, within reason...otherwise sometimes it would pick 3000 calories, haha). some days i only eat 1100....other days 2000. mostly, i've felt best at around 1300. if that means i end up losing a few more pounds, then so be it. although i've only lost 1 more pound…

i just friended you...i'm starting this week, too!

i just ordered it...it should arrive friday so i plan to start saturday morning. i'll be a week behind you all, but i'd love some people to help me!!
-
i agree with someone else who said take a nice long brisk walk once a week INSTEAD of the gym. it's still great exercise and great for the soul! let your mind wander and relax.

"Or you can wait until you 'bottom out' at a healthy amount of calories." This is what i did.

i was like this for a little while. someone told me that my body would let me know when i was done losing...and it did. i kept thinking "geez, if i keep losing i'm gonna disappear!!!", but i didn't feel like i was "done" losing. so i just let it happen. then, all of a sudden, i stopped losing and got hungrier. so i picked…

i'm 5'5 and i weigh 114. i have to eat very little (like it still seems like i'm dieting most days - 1500 net) to maintain at 114...and i exercise every day. in my opinion, sure...you could weigh 110, but you'd have to pretty much diet forever. once you weigh that little you burn fewer calories...30 minutes of jogging only…
