I keep one at each of my offices and use standing desks- love it! WD-40 works great but you'll need to spray it outside and put paper towels under it when you first use it again after spraying the joints since the oil will ooze out and drip.

RIpped in 30 and Extreme shed and Shred follow the same format as 30 day shred. NMTZ is a strength program and people usually alternate it with the cardio workout Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. That said, I like NTMZ for all the reasons my husband dislikes it- she cues continuously, changes circuits rapidly, and takes no…

google Hindu squats. I do about 20 at a time, a few times a day. Gets the blood pumping to my head and wakes me right up. You will need to be wearing pants with a little "give".

I logged it under "circuit training" in "cardio" until I got my HRM. If you use a heavy enough kettlebell (I use 20-25 lb), the "circuit training" underestimated a bit but not too much. Probably a good place to start.

If you have 25 lb to lose your main goal is a calorie deficit. For 3 months you will need to set your calorie deficit to losing 2 lb/week, and stick with it. No amount of exercising will help lose weight without a deficit (but you can get toned and drop sizes). For me, that calorie deficit can only be created by exercise…

Kettlebells are compact, low impact, quiet, fun, gets the HR very high, burns fat, and strengthens your core and extremities (with heavy enough bells). My husband and I do them together in our family room so it is social also. Wish I'd learned about them years ago. My treadmill use has gone from 4x/week to almost zero and…

Sarah Lurie Iron Core - 4 dvd series- 2 dvd's with techniques and 2 dvd's with 3 different 25 minute workouts only $12 at Amazon. Generally 4 sets of 5 minute circuits (short interval rest between circuits) with a short abs circuit at the end. Have been using this for 8 months with great results. Started with 10 lb to…

My local jewelrey store put a gold colored spacer on the inside part of my ring, no charge. It's probably not more than $10 even if they charged for it. Before the spacer, it was constantly slipping off.

good for the treadmill, what about calisthenics or kettlebell intervals? I don't have an HRM.

what is fast trouble zones?
-
My favorite toning DVD is Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones.

Shooting for no love handles or poochy tum! Just a few more pounds but mostly happy with where I am, in no hurry to lose more although I'll take it if it comes.

Oops- must have crossposted with above. My comment is much milder. I love Jillian workouts but her kettlebell workout does not emphasize form enough for beginners. Basheera actually has better form than Jillian does. Similarly the kettleworx program also does not emphasze form. Form is probably the most important thing in…

I have used Sarah Lurie's Iron Core Kettlebell workouts now for 6 months, several times a week. They are 25 minute workouts. I have worked my way up from one ten lb kettlebell to two 20 lb kettlebells (about 1/3 my body weight). I have also lost 11 lb though the exercise and a low calorie deficit via tracking on MFP. Last…

You need to balance your abs with your back exercises. Do half bridges for 3-5 minutes everyday. Lay on the ground with your knees bent, feet on the floor, and push your stomach up so that your back is curved up. Hold , starting with 1 min and working up to 3-5 mins. Supermans are good but harder. You don't get too sweaty…

I use a standing desk and a mini stepper since I have my own office and work on a computer all day. I got a lot of funny inquiries initially but now everyone is used to it. I get in about 10,000 steps a day (probably 90 mins) , stepping during the nonthinking "preparation" work. The mini stepper also acts as a natural…

you can get a set of 10, 15, and 20 lb CAP cast iron kettlebells from Walmart for $49 and $3 shipping. That's a good starter set for a female and will last you a while. The lighter kettlebell is good for training as you don't want to crush your wrist with a bad snatch before you learn the technique properly. The set of 20,…

Kudos to all of you who can sustain a low carb diet. I tried it and lost weight then regressed. I don't think I am alone in this. MFP calorie counting is what works for me since I can eat anything I want including my beloved dark chocolate caramels.I needed a food plan that was socially sustainable (eating with friends)…

try kettlebells? It's low-impact. You can look up the swing technique on youtube and see if that hurts your knees before you buy the weights.
-
Well at least they are at the gym and 20 mins of walking is better than none. Eventually they will catch the sweaty bug when they see others transform.
-
The public library usually has a shelf of workout dvd's that you can try out before buying. 30 day shred is a favorite beginner one. Anything by JIllian Michaels has different levels and the girls show easier and harder variations too. My husband and I have really gotten into kettlebells too, you can get a set of 10, 15t,…

you look like Angelina Jolie, gorgeous!

those are the yummiest calories! chocolate, ice cream, etc.

I saw some coworkers for the first time after my6 months of Mfp and exercising. As I reached for a cheese Danish, one woman who was previously thinner than me and had been asking about my weight loss said, "can I look like you if I eat like that?". I said, "sure, if you're willing to sweat it off." funny how everyone…

6 months and 12 lb down. 3-4 more to go, I want to see those abs! I'lll go for weeks without losing then all of a sudden a pound or two drops off. I eat back all my exercise calories, average between 300-500 exercise cals a day. Love the slow loss, I get to indulge in chocolate everyday and not feel deprived. It took me 10…

I mix 3-4 Jillian workouts with different workouts, and running. Depens on how much time I have and how energetic I feel.
-
bosc! always sweet and crunchy.
-
My exercise calories all go to chocolate! They make Mfp logging tolerable. The calorie deficit still works. Am thinking that I may need a protein supplement eventually.
-
also, set your weight loss at 1/2 lb per week. That is much easier and you WILL lose the weight . Slow but steady wins the race!

30 day shred video and a pair of 3 lb weights. Yoga mat so you don't get your carpet sweaty. Time nd determination to work out regularly.
