Exercise, then eat back your exercise calories. Win Win. You will feel better, look better, and have many other ancillary benefits.

When you get older you will count your blessings for a fuller face because it will help you stay young looking. The French say that you have to choose between beautiful (thin body) and a beautiful (fuller) face. Sounds like you are one of the lucky ones who do not have to choose.

It took me about a year to get my first chin up- using the flexed arm hang first then the negatives- after that I was able to gain one every couple of weeks and now am at 6! So keep at it, it just takes time and persistence. It worked better for me not to use the assisted pullup machine.

Exercise! You will feel better and look better and get to eat those exercise calories while maintaining the same deficit. All win-win.

The French say that you have to choose between the body and the face in beauty when you get older. (young body= less fat, young face=more fat)

I think there is a French saying that as you age, you have to choose between weight in your face or weight on your body for beauty.

I started out with the very reasonably priced iron CAP kettlebell set of 10-15-20 lb from walmart ($3 shipping to home!!) , but then ordered a 20-25-30 set shortly afterwards for my husband . I'm currently using 25 for the single bell workout and two 20's for the double workout, very challenging (I weigh 125 lb, female).…

nikes. Only because I have wide feet and can never wear nikes.

kettlebells! everyone comments on my arms now when I wear sleeveless shirts. Otherwise it's not noticeable since they didn't get bigger, just toned.

moustache_fla, did you draw this? It's awesome!

this sounds strange, but after my knee started hurting a year ago, I started regularly doing kettlebells. When I started running again 8 months later, I was able to get right back to my prior running speed and length (4 miles , 6.5 mph) within a week. So somehow kettlebells kept up my cardiovascular conditioning and leg…

don't get the metal ones. We've had them change color after having an MRI.

Kettlebells! Strength and cardio together. Fun too!

Microwave butternut squash! Super simple, fast, and low calorie. SlIce in half lengthwise (leave seeds in). Place on large plate with another plate over it. Cook on high in microwave 12-16 mins (mine takes 12 but I have a 1300 watt MW). Take out with oven mitts. Scoop out the seeds. Use a spoon to eat the delicious…

I started with the 10-15-20 set from Walmart and progressed quickly through them , within about 2 months. Love the Sarah Lurie (Iron Core Kettlebells) set as a start- has a training module and three great workouts, The price is incredible- 4 dvd's for only about $12. Great form and the workouts can be really challenging…

If it's mild it's probably just and imaging finding and not clinically symptomatic, especially if you didn't have any symptoms before your trauma. I work in imaging and we follow patients for decades with mild syringohydromyelia including some of our techs and they havn't changed or become symptomatic. Best wishes.

I made these and they are delish but 1 cup of dried oats is 300 calories so the recipe is 500 calories. That made 12 smallbite sized cookies at 42 calories each, it's easy to eat a lot of these so I wouldn't exactly call it low- cal. Please correct my calculations if they are wrong. Honestly I'd rather have a trader joe's…

I think a lot of times people are reacting to the facial weight loss when they think you are losing too much weight. Some people do lose weight in their faces faster than elsewhere, it eventually catches up and looks good but sometimes it can look a little unhealthy. So smile and say "Thanks, I'm working really hard at…

I have found that when I respond, "Thanks, I am working really hard at my fitness." that tends to stop the conversation. People in general seem to want to know about special diets and magic, they aren't that interested in plain hard work.

50 here, fighting for every pound. Up and down but in the meantime have become a regular exerciser thanks to home videos. Currently down 11 lb in one year, 4 more to go. I was never fat but with all that toning, people have noticed. Three times this year I was mistaken for a college student and once in my garage a…

Elliptical is lower impact BUT for the women out there, you need impact to prevent osteoporosis- so walking, running, weights, etc. Elliptical, swimming , and biking will not help with osteoporosis although they have other great benefits. So mix it up, as others have said!

you have dangeously low self esteem and are blowing this issue way out of proportion. Your picture show looks most of us are envious of. Please see a doctor to be sure that you are not accumulating belly fluid. Fat would be a lot better than fluid and the implications of that. If it is fat, there is a lot that can be done…

No more trouble zones Jillian Michaels is a great strength and toning DVD! You gotta eat to make up your exercise calories though.
-
for short term waist trimming without exercise a low carb diet and calorie restriction works wonders; it is just not sustainable for most people for the long term. For long term, caloric restriction and toning works the best (weight lifting, kettlebells, etc).

well if you are on the beta blockers, you can't get your heart rate up so that is a really bad measure. You definitely need to talk to a cardiac rehab therapist who is used to dealing with those sorts of drugs. BTW I had a cardiac ablation and was on beta blockers and they made me so tired all the time I never exercised -…

ditto on the walmart set of 10-15-20. 10 is the perfect starting weight and you will be up to 20 in a few months if you do it regularly. Sarah Lurie has a 4 dvd set on Amazon for $10 which included tutorials and 3 great workouts, this is my go-to set
-
Are you on beta blockers? If so your heart rate is pharmacologically depressed and does not reflect true exercise. 87 is really low HR for a sustained walk other than strolling. For a heart rate of less than 140, for a reasonably fit but not athletic person, you can probably safely do a slow jog or a fast walk 3.5 -4.5…

You need to eat at a deficit to lose weight, is 2000 calories a deficit for your height and weight? That's the first thing to be sure of.

Slim in 6 is low impact. Classic kettlebell dvd's are low impact strength and cardio.
