  • This is great! I will try and think of some good recipes to add
  • I grew up eating salads of just cucumbers, apple cider vinegar and some Mrs. Dash. So simple but so tasty. Curried cucumber soups are really good....http://allrecipes.com/recipe/spicy-cucumber-soup/ Got any tomatoes? You could make gazpacho! I saw a smoothie the other day for cucumber strawberry smoothie. I haven't made it…
  • I think lower case img perhaps? ETA: you look great!! I really need to get a copy of NROL4W! I keep thinking about it but the more results I see that more convinced I am that lifting is the way to go.
  • I think it is more likely that your brain gets used to you eating more (like when you eat back exercise calories) rather than your body actually needing more. Food choices definitely influence your hunger and cravings. I know that when I eat simple carbohydrates I burn right through them and feel like I need to eat again…
  • All of these tips sound awesome! I love to cook and I love variety so I need to work on properly freezing my leftovers because I always make big batches (it's the only way I know how to cook haha) Every so often I find myself making lazy food choices and I now realize that it is because I have gotten tired of meal prepping…
  • Hey all, I'm a 23 year old nursing student. I will be graduating next spring and I would love to be done losing and working on maintenance by that time. It seems like nurses are often so unhealthy and I don't want to be that way as a nurse. I want to a role model for my patients as well as my coworkers =]

  • My name is Hannah I'm 23 y/o I'm 5' 10" highest weight= 299 current weight ~187 tentative goal =170 ultimate goal= 160 So I guess I only have 27 lbs to lose....but that is close enough to 30, right1?!? =] ETA: this group is perfect for me because my birthday is in June and I will be graduating from nursing school around…
  • great job, you look awesomely fit!
  • Chop it off! I cut off 10 inches of hair last month and it has made working out so much more enjoyable haha. My ponytail used to bounce around and get plastered to my face with sweat..sooo gross. I cut it so I could just barely pull it back in a nub of a ponytail and then used a headband to keep any wisps off my face. It's…
  • yum! I love raw desserts, they are so creative!
  • What you "should' do depends on how you have set up your daily calorie goal. MFP gives you a 500 calorie deficit per day if you have set your goals for 1 lb/week. With that in mind, anything your burn is extra and you are free to eat it and still lose 1 lb/ week. The tricky part is actually knowing how much you burn...even…
  • Great job! I love C25K. I'll be finishing up week 5 tomorrow morning!
  • I'm not a vegan but to make my oatmeal more substantial I often will have a veggie sausage on the side. I get the morning-star ones which are 80 cals but I'm not sure if they are vegan... If I don't want the added sodium of the fake-meat I will add nuts, hemp seeds, or flaxseed meal to my oatmeal to make it more filling.
  • yum sounds great, thanks!
  • My sister has exercise induced asthma and was told by her doctor to use an albuterol rescue inhaler prior to exercising. I have had asthma since childhood and find that using my inhaler before my workout can really help me not to get winded. Luckily with my weight loss my asthma has improved a lot and I no longer need…
  • bummer, looks like its not available in its entirety outside of Canada. Sounds interesting, and terrifying, though.
  • Amazing transformation!
  • I like to make turkey chilli! In fact, I'm making it for dinner tomorrow night. 1 tbsp olive oil 20 oz pack of ground turkey, 1 medium onion, diced 1 large red pepper, chopped 1 large green pepper, chopped 2 cans (around 14.5oz each) of any combination of red or pink kidney beans or pinto or black beans (try to find beans…
  • Stir fry is a great way to cook up a whole bunch of vegetables. I typically use broccoli, bell peppers, onions, and maybe some mushrooms and snow peas. Peppers and onions can be sauteed with some steak or chicken for fajitas. Curry dishes are a great place to sneak in a bunch of vegetables like peas, carrots and spinach…
  • My boyfriend would absolutely love this! And I will love that its easy and pretty healthy to make. Thanks!
  • You are amazing! Keep up all the great work =]
  • If you have to wake up earlier than usual to fit in a workout then be sure to go to bed a little earlier too! If I don't get at least 6 hrs of sleep the night before then I'm not going to wake up feeling ready to hit the gym or go for a run. That being said, a little coffee in the morning is a great motivator haha
  • I've been taking adult gummy vitamins (the pills weren't working out for me) along with a B-complex. I've also started taking a probiotic which I really think is helping me feel better. I used to think that if I ate healthfully then I shouldn't need vitamins but modern farming practices (selectively breeding crops for…
  • feel free to friend me! I'd love a little message with an introduction so I can get to know you better =] I'm a 23 y/o nursing student and I've been overweight my entire life and I finally got sick of it and decided to take control!
  • hey there! I too suffer from sciatic nerve issues, likely due to a slipped disc from being overweight for so long. I have been in physical therapy numerous times and suffered through numerous flare ups, one so bad it had me crawling into an ER for relief. I want to let you know that there are many back and core exercises…
  • Good job taking these first steps to a healthier you!
