I just finished week 7 and I've lost just a pound or two, but I can definitely tell the difference in the tone of my arms and legs. I haven't been cutting back on what I eat and am probably eating a bit more. Now that I am really feeling better and getting into the routine of running, I'm going to start paying more…

Was able to do my last week 7 run outside this morning. Still tough, but much more interesting. I only felt like stopping twice :) My legs felt like lead during the last 5 minutes, but I trudged on. Yea, I'm ready for week 8 on Monday!!!

W7D2 down last night. Had to go to the gym and run the track because it's been very wet and stormy here. It felt like an eternity running around and around. I much prefer running outdoors - more distractions. I found myself wanting to stop about every five minutes, but I kept on until the end :)

I do yoga on the evenings of my runs (so MWF run in morning, MW + Sat morning yoga class). It's a very nice way to stretch and do something different.

Thanks for the tip Plex. I'm not worried about speed right now either, so I'll slow it down and see how that goes.

Just did W7D1 this morning! I kept my pace pretty slow and steady (12.5 min/mile), but was still huffing very heavily when I was finally able to walk again. I've heard that you're supposed to be able to have a conversation while jogging if you are going at the appropriate pace. There is no way I could talk during my runs -…

That's great! It doesn't matter how fast you went. The fact is YOU DID IT!!!!!!!

I did week 6 over the holidays, but was abroad and missed a few days between the end of W6 and the beginning of W7. So I did days 1&2 of week 6 again this week and will start week 7 on Monday. The program I'm doing had a 25 min run for W6D3, so I've done that already and hopefully I can just start up with the long runs…

Congrats! I did my W5D3 last night. I really can't believe that I kept on going for the whole 20 minutes. It really is a mental challenge. Hopefully going back to the intervals next week will seem 'easy'.
-
Yea, I did W5D2 last night! Not too bad and I was really amazed at how far I was going. Those little steps really do add up to something big! W5D3 tomorrow night!
-
Plex - I hope your W5D2 run went well yesterday! Mine is this evening.

I did W5D1 today! I could feel how hot my face was after the second 5 minute run, but I recovered in time and was able to do the third 5 minutes to finish it up. HOORAY!!!
-
Thanks, Plex! I am in Texas, so the weather usually cooperates, but we've had some very chilly weather these past two days. I did day two this morning in 25 degrees (no wind though thankfully). Today felt a bit easier than Monday.

Yea! Just did W4D1 this morning. It wasn't easy and the cold wind blowing in my face was not fun, but I did it!
-
I just finished W3D3 this morning! I did the first two days in South Beach Miami, which was beautiful, so maybe that made getting through this week a bit easier :)
-
Great way to look at it! In the last 5 weeks I've lost just over a Bald Eagle. I think I have a cinder block to go.
-
W6D2 done! The first 10 was tough, but I kept on plodding and puffing through  Not sure if I'm mentally ready for a 25-minute run, but I'll try it this weekend.

Did W6D1 today! There was a big ROTC group running past me near the end, so I mis-heard the last cue and stopped jogging (it was the D2 cool-down, not D1's). I realized a minute later when the podcast told the D1 folks that it was time for their cool-down - Opps! So, I ran for another minute and then did the cool down. I…

Did W5D3 today! VERY slow towards the end, but I didn't stop. I don't have a good sense of the distance that I went, but doing an estimate on google maps I figure it was about 1.6 miles for the jogging part - 12.5 minute/mile.

I did W5D2 again this morning. I did it last Friday, but on Monday (which was supposed to be my W5D3) I was sick. So I decided to repeat day 2 and go for day 3 on Friday. The 8 minutes is tough, but I'm motivated by all of those who have made it through day 3. I'm going pretty slow, but I think building up the total amount…

W5D2 down! Yea!!!!
-
Oh no, I guess the program thought I was trying to write something vulgar instead of just posting someone's name :blushing:
-
****ersondiva - I'm absolutely amazed that I'm jogging for 5 minutes straight now. The 60 and 90 seconds were tough at the beginning, but you really do increase your stamina as you go on. Just keep at it. I thought about repeating W4, but I'll see how my first day on W5 goes tomorrow and then decide.
-
I've been following the coolrunning version - http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml W4 has two 3-min runs and two 5-min runs.
-
Made it through day 1 today! The first runs were ok, but during the second two my legs were feeling heavy! Made it through and ran the whole time - yay!
-
Finished week 3 today. My breathing wasn't too great, but I made it through! We'll see how W4D1 goes on Wednesday...
-
Did W3D2 today. The first 3 minutes seemed more difficult than the second. I made it through though! I had a bit of inspirations, because I live near a university and all of the ROTC folks were out jogging as well (my dog loves it when they run by)!
-
Yea! Did my W3D1 this morning. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. The first 3 minute interval was fine, the second a bit slower, but I still kept up a jogging pace. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

I'm starting W3D1 tomorrow morning and am a bit nervous as well. It seems like a big leap to double the running time. I wish I could run with my dog, but she 'stops and smells the roses' a bit too often.
-
Just finished week 2 yesterday! Ready for week 3 to begin tomorrow morning. I'm a bit intimidated at doubling the run time to 3 minutes, but the 90 seconds actually went by much faster than I thought it would.
