  • Amazing motivation! You are an inspiration to all of us! Keep up the good work!
  • Gold's where? I am a member of Gold's in Alabama and I pay $50/mth for a family membership. That is with a discount. There are classes but most are over by the time I get there and tanning is optional. I also pay an additional $140/mth for a personal trainer there. I would love it if they would offer tanning. Don't think I…
  • I am hypothyroid as well and we are still trying to get my meds regulated. With that being said I avoid milk, I avoid cruciferous veggies which affect absorption of synthroid. I have workout like a maniac and am training for my first 5k. With all of that I've only lost 20 pounds in the last 6 months. Slow and painful, slow…
  • Too Bad you aren't closer to Southside. :(
  • I am hypo and it has been EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. EXTREMELY! I have broken down and have a trainer and she is hypo as well and she will tell you it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT That being said, the Dr has said once the meds are regulated for a yr then it will start to come off. I just can't seem to make it to a yr. Also the scale…
  • I eat Kashi Go Lean Crunch and Kashi Honey Almond Flax and have apiece of fruit with it right now oranges. As much as I would love to have eggs for breakfast it isn't possible for me. I am allergic to every part of the egg and the allergist has said it could get worse so I don't attempt them.
  • I am hypothyroid as well and stayed fairly regular for about 6 months with my levels and then Friday I got the call it was up again. Most Dr's recommend that your level be between .3 and 3, 1 being where most people feel good. The American Endocrinologist recommends those levels as well but some Dr's still follow the old…
  • My metabolism is super slow as well. I am 5'4 and am trying to at a minimum make it to 145. So I have 75 as of right now. Have already lost 12.
  • Update:.....No Longer in Weaver decided to move back to Gadsden. Still finding that the weight just doesn't want to budge, BUT I am noticing a difference in the way my clothes fit and my stamina. Invested in a personal trainer as well. I needed to do something because something wasn't working.
  • I am Jessica and I am in Weaver, Alabama. I'm 38 and a single mother of a 14 yr old daughter. I have been on MFP for a couple months now, but have only lost 3 pounds. I am hypothyroid and although I have always struggled with my weight l went through a period of rapid weight gain due to the thyrpid and steroids used to…
  • I was very self conscioous about working out in public but one day I realized I wasn't doing myself any good. And someone told me that no one was paying attention to me, and you know what that is mostly right. I have thrown myself into the gym, and am there twice a day now (30 mins at lunch, 1 hour - 1.5 hours after work)…
  • Thank you all for the input. I get new Thryoid results tomorrow and if they are within "normal" I am going to make an appt to see the dr just to make sure I am not competeing against some OTHER issue. Here's to a new day right????
  • I have 6 acres that I am the caretaker to and the yard work alone is a great calories burner but that only started last week. I seriously last week and the week before did two hours at the gym almost every day last week. I have recently changed gyms and this one I do NOT like their treadmills but have discovered the…
  • I wish I could eat omelets..Eggs are a HUGE no no for me..EGG ALLERGY SUCKS! Oatmeal, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt fruit. I do like the Quaker Stila bars for a change of pace though. And seafood I just don't like. I have for tomorrow, left over smoked chicken for dinner, and then for Saturday I already have lean pork…
  • The calories burned are coming from here or from other calculators. I know that the machines are not always correct so I am using the time and the distance but not the calories burned. Also as crazy as it is my stamina is actually pretty good. When I started in August trying to get this off I couldn't do a full 10 mins on…
  • And I guess I should tell everyone. The 60 pounds was put on in less than a yr, probably close to 6 mths. Apparently with the steroids, which started as small doses but grew to MAJOR doses, will pack on the weight quick. I also read an article tonight that stated that your astham inhaler could make you gain weight too, or…
  • Diary opened. I have been looking through and it is funny you can see the days that I was having off days.
  • I do have achy joints off and on but nothng that a couple ibuprofen can't help. Thank you everyone. I am gonna run and help my daughter pack. She is getting to enjoy Spring Break while I will be working. Once I am done with that I will get the diary opened.
  • Just had bloodwork done AGAIN today. The last round I didn't have to be upped but I was just borderline. I am 5'4 and weight 225 and am 38 (tomorrow).
  • Unfortunately I can't workout on an empty stomach. I am up at 5:00 am out the door with my daughter by 6:30 have her on the bus by 7:00 and then am at work about 7:40ish. If I could get up and be at the gym by 4am I would but I don't think it even opens til 6am. (Small town LOL)
  • Honestly I try not to eat my exercise calories. I had my calories set at 1500 and when that didn't work I lowered them which isn't working either. Oh I am pushing myself when I am at the gym. It is funny when I got back to the office today after the gym one of our agents (I work for a law enforcement organization) asked if…
  • Because I am allergic to eggs breakfast is my biggest obstacle, but it is normally oatmeal..No butter, no sugar. I don't eat the 100 cal packs. I eat green apples, strawberries, lunch is a salad or Progresso soup and even sometimes what I have left over for lunch. Dinner consists of salad, and then some kind of lean meat.…
