  • During my long, long runs I would do GU and Gatorade and never had nauseous problems! Also, I would either eat oatmeal or a bagel with cream cheese about an hour before running and never felt sick, plus they lasted me a while. :)
  • Good Luck on your training! I just completed my first marathon May 6th. I have never been a runner and January when I started my life changing journey, my husband asked me if I would run a marathon with him and crazy me said yes. haha I told myself I wouldn't give up on this because I really wanted to complete a full…
  • I trained primarily on my treadmill at home for the full marathon I did, so 5 hours was the most I've stayed on one. I had my IPod, my IPad and my TV going. haha :)
  • Congrats on your marathon! I think you are pretty amazing for doing what you did while being sick. I had my first marathon last Sunday and it was difficult for me and I wasn't even sick. It took me 6 hours 14 minutes and I wanted to just lay on the side of the road through most of it. You should be so proud of yourself no…
  • Thank you! :) Yay!! :)
  • Hi, I'm Gina and I am 5'8. My starting weight was 178ishlbs with a cup size of a 34H and now down to 150.5lbs with a cup size of a 32/34F/G depending on the bra. Even at my lowest weight I was an F cup. One day I would really like a breast reduction especially now with running. Just completed my first marathon and…

  • Yes, I have to have fun!! Take it all in and maybe talk with some fellow runners along my way. :)
  • Thank you! All of you have given me some really great advice and makes me feel a little less anxious! I really appreciate it!! hohner, have a really great 3rd marathon!! I loved your number 6 advice!! :)
  • Thanks guys!! Believe me, I will be slow! I'm hoping even going slow will help my body accomplish the feat! :) I have been starting to carbo load starting today so I am not over doing it but hoping to get enough in. I like the idea of a beer towards the end so I won't feel the pain so much! haha Good Luck on your marathon…
  • Thank you guys! Slow and steady wins the race! haha Keep that motto going in my head all the time! :) I also have to remember to breathe! :)
  • Thank you ladies! Makes me feel better to hear not to worry about time because I am already super slow and feel bad about it. Most importantly, I do want to finish no matter what! Thank you again! The encouragement really helps me! :)
  • I really like that mantra! Thank you! I don't plan on over doing it as I am not that fast to begin with. I might even have to walk half of it, who knows, but my goal is to just finish no matter how I get there! :)
  • Thanks everyone! I know the outside can be harder as I did an 11.5 miler in some killer wind where even surfers were out and this is Vancouver! haha Picked the wrong day to do it, but I did it and on my course ran through almost all types of conditions. I think I did pretty well with pace but did up my time outside a…
  • I definitely understand about not wanting to lose the muscle mass. I told myself after the marathon I am going to start lifting weights and building back some since I think I may have lost with all the running. I try to eat back at least some of my calories. Thanks on the luck! I need all the support i can get. haha I am…
  • Thank you! I've done some of the programs and hills as well. I do want to try and get outside more though but I agree the programs help. Thanks again! :)
  • Thanks! I'm pretty excited about it as much as I am nervous. My husband and I were going to drive the course but running some of it would be great too. I was think of running around Stanley Park twice for my 16 miler. It seems pretty flat. Any advice minus the weather. I know it can be unpredictable. We just move to…
  • Thanks everyone! I have never run any other races before as I am totally new to all of this. A marathon is a life goal and my husband and I are doing it together although he is much faster. I will try and get out there to do my long runs for the next several weeks before I take on race day. I am very anxious and appreciate…
  • Thanks! :)
  • I am training for a full marathon in May and started my training beginning of January as well as my weight loss journey. On Sat. my longest run to date is 14.2 miles and I run about 26-34 miles a week now. I started with a weight of 175 and have lost 16 pounds so far so right now I am at 159. My calorie intake without…
  • Grew up in Northern Jersey (Totowa) and that is where most of my family still lives! :)
  • Great job!!! I know how tough it is as I am trying to get stronger with running myself! Keep at it! I am slow, but I am getting there. I ran about 95% of 6.60 miles today!!
  • I make a tuna salad that fills me up and is so good! 1can of tuna 1/2 cup of black beans chopped red onions chopped tomato 1 tablespoon bacon crumbs 1 tablespoon of mayo 1 tablespoon of mustard mix it all together and viola, a delicious salad full of protein! :) Sometimes I put some garlic, salt and pepper for seasoning. :)
  • You look Fantastic!!! Keep up the great work!!! :)
  • Thanks everyone!! Let me just say I promise I am a true foodie. I love to eat but I am guessing my problem also lies with my water intake which is less than needed, which I am trying my hardest to work on. I will take all of your advice and eat more calories especially if I do a high burn which I only intend to do once a…
  • Thank you ladies. I don't want to force myself to eat when I am already full. I don't know how to get around that. I don't want to hurt myself.
  • I think you are strong women and think you are doing a fantastic job. And again, I am thankful for your friendship and encouragement!! You know I am always here for you! You are beautiful! :)
  • I usually do a can of tuna or can of chicken mixed with 1 tablspoon of mayo and some mustard and I mix in black beans, chopped tomatoes and onions and a tablespoon of crumbled bacon (the cold kind you can find in costco for salads) and it is a really delicious salad and low calorie lunch that fills me up so much, I usually…
