  • I have a friend who had to really monitor his blood sugar very closely. He said that walking seemed to lower his blood sugar better than anything. it effected his blood sugar more than watching what he ate, which he he did that also. Are you exercising?
  • Something that might help is dry body brushing. You can do a search on line and find videos and such. It is great for moving toxins out of your system and sloughing off dead skin cells. I was doing it for a while and it really seemed to tighten my skin. After a week of skin brushing a friend asked me if I had been working…
  • I just started the Abs Diet this week. We'll see how it goes. I know that if I eat 6 meals a day and eat clean and keep my calories down, I do well. It sounds like a good diet. I'm just hoping that the foods it suggests really does break down the belly fat. My belly is really where I carry most of my weight. I'll check…
  • I bought mine at Half Price Book Store for $3.00
  • Okay, I made the February Challenge 2/1/12 186 2/6/12 184.5 2/14/12 183.5 2/21/12 182 2/29/12 178.5 So, another challenge for March, anyone?
  • I pretty much eat the same meals everyday for a week. Then I change it up. I live by myself so I will cook a big batch of something and divide it into individual servings so that I can grab it and run and I know how many calories are in each serving. It makes recording my meals easier too. I try to cook some sort of beans…
  • If you are not recording the oils in a recipe, don't worry you are probably not eating under your calorie goal. Those oils and salad dressings and mayonnaise are diet killers. Egads, i thought I was doing so good eating a salad. Boy, did I have to rethink that one.
  • Ok. I've had great resolve in January but now I need a little challenge. Count me in.
  • One more thing. I also take a Fruit and Veggie Complex tablet by Watkins. I eat a lot of veggies, but I just don't think you can get too many veggies.
  • One thing I do is keep a bag of chopped greens in the freezer. When I make a vegetable soup I add a cup or two of the chopped greens towards the end. It gives the soup a little more nutritional bump. They are cut so small you don't even taste them. I also make fresh greens (you can get them pre washed and cut) with…
  • When I go on a diet, I intentionally don't talk about it because I have a friend that sabotages. But we eat out together often and she can tell when I'm watching what I eat. She then insists on buying me treats and gets offended if i don't indulge with her. I've even had her shove half cookies in my hand saying she can't…
  • I can't express just how fantastic your weight lose is. You can just see that skinny girl that was hiding in you, coming out. that's the real you!!!!! It is so hard to maintain that slow and steady weight loss. I know know because I can lose about 20 lbs and then I just have to EAT!!!!!!. You keep up the good work and keep…
  • Wow, that is a great story! I don't think we know how insecure we become when we put on weight. But as soon as we start losing the weight our confidence soars. All of a sudden you feel like you can do anything....the sky is the limit.
  • You are looking so great! You look like you feel better and are happier. You keep up the good work.
  • Great job. I just hope I can be as diligent and successful as you have been. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration.
  • I didn't see this one on here, so here's my contribution: Tuscan Bean Soup 1 lb Sweet Italian Sausage (it's actually a very good soup without the sausage, if you want to cut calories) 1 medium Onion, chopped 2 stalks Celery, chopped 8 cloves garlic, minced 4 cups chopped kale 5 cups chicken broth 1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning…
  • A good homemade pico di gallo is good on salads. Chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, red onions and cilantro, mixed with lime juice and kosher salt. It just adds some extra vegetables but the salty lime juice gives the salad that extra flavor like dressing. The calories should be very low, however, the sodium may be a little high.
  • BTW, you have a lot os diet friends here. Hooray for you......you lost 9 lbs.....awesome.....keep up the great work!!!
  • Well, now you know who not to discuss it with. At work there is a lady and usually we really don't talk much but when we both decide to go on a diet (like every January...lol) we discuss every aspect of it. She is a great support. It's like I have diferent friends for different things. She is my diet friend. I get that…
  • I agree. I've read some things regarding the Gerson therapy which advocating eating vegetarian, juicing and eating organic vegetable to treat cancer and other diseases with much success. I'm not quite ready to go vegetarian yet, though. I like my meat.
  • Watkins products makes a Fruit and Veggie Complex tablet. I eat a lot of vegetables but I personally think you can't eat too many. Some days when I'm on the run I just can't get in enough fruit and vegetables, so these tablets help supplement that. When I take them I feel nourished and don't have as many cravings. It also…
  • You can actually make your own kefir. I was doing it for awhile. I bought the kefir "grains" from someone on Ebay. You put them in milk and you leave it out on your counter for a day or two. It thickens like buttermilk. You can tell its ready when it coats the side of the jar. Each time you make it the number of grains…
  • BTW, Has anyone seen those "Eggie" things in the stores, where you you crack 6 eggs into the plastic holder and boil the whole thing. It kinda looks like a small plastic egg carton that you boil. It is so that you don't have to peel the egg after boiling it. If anyone has one, I want to know if they work well.
  • Sounds fun. Add me to the list
