Cook the healthy foods. If they don't like it, they do not have to eat it. It doesn't really make sense to focus on health for yourself, but still suggest that your family chooses unhealthy options. And as hard as it is, try to quit feeling guilty. You have to be healthy to be the best you, mom, and wife. Know that you are…

When my daughter was exclusive breastfed, I added 400 calories. Now that she's nine months and eating solids and a bottle every day, I set my weight loss to 1lb/wk and just eat that. When I didn't add in any calories at first, I was so tired all the time though.

Two weeks is not enough time to let your metabolism catch up. Ignore the scale.. Eat at your maintenance for maybe two whole months and then start cuting calories. ETA: I highly doubt you are underestimating your food if you're eating a little over 1000/day.

OMGGAWWW.. I am at work, and I cannot stop laughing.

Beautiful! Congratulations on your amazing success!

Ohh yes!

If your daughter is eating three meals a day, I don't think you need to factor in 800 calories for breasteeding. Once my baby started eating solids, I cut back by about 75 calories per meal from the 500 I started with. I would try only adding 350 calories a day for breastfeeding. Or, if you're willing to experiment, eat…

This is always a point of confusion for me. With so much to lose, sometimes I'm discouraged from weight lifting, but I'll just keep on keeping on.

I love optimum nutrition gold standard in double chocolate something and their vanilla ice cream as well.

I road 8 more miles since posting last! I haven't kept up with my total for this month, but it's definitely something I'll do for July. Thanks for the encouragement, I WILL CONTINUE!

Thank you ladies! I'll incorporate the stretches and make sure I'm doing more warm up sets. It started with the squats but got worse when I started riding my bike home from campus. I can't wait to get back into the program though on Monday!

I'm supposed to be finishing my final paper right now. Had my husband put the girls in bed, and I've been endlessly reading the forums instead of typing about inequality. I could have been done by this morning :grumble:

I don't think 1200 calories is sufficient to produce quality breastmilk for your munchkin. It depends on how often the baby is nursing. I'm breastfeeding my 8mo, but she sleeps through the night, and nurses about five times during the day so I'm adding an additional 350 calories a day. When I was constantly nursing through…

Awesome Kate! This is really inspiring. Question: my husband bought me a "comfort bike" at wal-mart a while back, and I've been riding it home from school occasionally. It is seriously so hard. I've been a little inconsistent with my workouts lately, but is this normal? I live in a pretty hill-y area, but dang! This is…

So, back when I mentioned something about not having a squat rack at my gym.. Well, apparently I did my orientation in the "women's gym" I went exploring a little bit and found the "co-ed" free weight room in the gym and of course they have two squat racks that are always empty! It feels so much better squatting without…

I've tried oh so many times to just use a protein smoothie for breakfast, but i'm always hungry later. I've done all sorts of fruits and veggie combos, chia seeds, flax meal, dry oatmeal (STOMACHACHE CITY!) but unless a smoothie keeps you pretty full, I don't think the added protein does muchh good.
