  • April 2014! 5 weeks today. Not planning to lose a huge quantity of weight in that time, but I am gearing up for a bit of self-imposed March bootcamp. If I can lose 7 lbs I'll be very happy!
  • Hi! I have already started with Asylum, but I'm not following the Asylum planner to the letter. I'm actually trying out the Insanity/Asylum hybrid as best I can. If it helps to motivate you to know someone else is trying out the workouts, here I am! I did The Asylum Speed and Agility today. Now I am super tired, but I…
  • Hi everyone! This year I got below 11 stone, and would love to get below 10 st for Christmas. I live abroad, so it'll be great to surprise my friends and family with such a fantastic transformation! Hope to motivate and be motivated here :)
  • That's great - congratulations on your success so far!
  • I use a Polar FT4, also with Insanity. I'm not in the US, but I believe it is available for less than $100. I paid around 100 Swiss francs for mine, doubtless it'll be cheaper where you are. I'm very happy with it. It has a memory for previous workouts and you can set training zones.
  • I started out with P90X, but switched to Insanity because I wanted more cardio. I haven't completed P90X, but I have completed Insanity and it really works for me - it improved my fitness so much, I am still no athlete but I am fitter now than I have ever been and slowly shifting excess fat! Depends what you're after, both…
  • 25 lbs in 6 months sounds like a good loss, congratulations. I understand that if you have a lot more lbs to shed, then you could be frustrated now. Are you still losing steadily, even if slowly? Don't lose heart, you've done really well. If you've 'plateaued', search the boards for further advice (there's loads) -…
  • I just came across this series. It is very informative and interesting. Despite the heavy emphasis on sugar, I think the arguments are quite balanced, having watched the series with some previous knowledge. Bumping for others' interest.
  • Hey, welcome! I'm already pals with your wife - such an inspiration! Hope you get what you want out of MFP :)

  • Interesting, bump for a closer look later on!
  • Well done :)
  • Well done! Mini goals are a great idea :) Keep going :) I've also got half a stone to go to my first goal.
  • One week? Try MFP for a week, I'm sure you'll get hooked and you'll be the one convincing your friend to come spend no money over here. Welcome :)
  • Great ideas here! My usual lunch involves a bit of planning - I invested in a soup flask and make a big pot of soup on Sunday to get me through most of my weekday lunches. After the initial making, all that's required is a spot of heating up in the morning. Nutritious, controllable. It'll be good to switch it up with some…
  • Nice, thanks :)
  • Wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration :)
  • Hey, I haven't done 30DS but since you've no replies yet, let me share some experience I've had with Insanity. When I started Insanity, it was a shock to the system and I often had to modify to complete, but I persevered and got fitter and stronger. The second month of Insanity consists of longer, more intense workouts -…
  • Get up and try again! As the others have said, it's not uncommon to gain weight with exercise. Personally I have struggled to find a balance between lowering my calories and upping my exercise schedule, but it seems we just have to learn as we go. Totally frustrating, but until we learn, we won't understand the changes we…
  • Hey Lucy! I can relate to you - actually I've just been thinking similar thoughts myself, especially this past week. But the thing is, I can see a difference to my body now after a lot of hard work with exercise, over a period of several months. To see more results, I need to keep stepping it up and keep tabs on my food…
  • Good luck! it's good to have motivational goals :) My personal motivation is a handbag... :-D
  • Hi Fi! Welcome back :) I started using MFP about 3 weeks ago. Weight loss isn't always easy and it takes patience, and I guess that's what is so good about finding other people to share the journey with. I'm also 5'3" and am currently 11 st 6. I exercise a lot using the Insanity workout programme and it's really changing…
  • Up your intake of fresh fruit and veg, and drink plenty water - things should start moving!

  • Hey, congratulations on your weight loss :-) I'm can't vouch for this, but I've dieted with Rosemary Conley (books, magazines, online - all excellent), and I remember seeing advertisements for a 'Facial Flex'. It's meant to tone the muscles in your face/neck with regular use to help tackle the problem you describe. You…
  • I love Quorn mince - with the right selection of seasoning it's delicious and indeed much lower fat than real mince. You should definitely give it a try - if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it again.
  • I'm on week two of Insanity! I've been using it back and fore for the past few months but now I'm ready to push through those 60 days. Nice to see other users here who are giving it a shot! I just downloaded the MFP app three days ago, it's a great help for me on this road to better health. Good luck everybody, I'd love to…
