That's great. My husband did the same after I had been on MFP for 6 months and he saw my progress. He is down 3 pant sizes now!

I go regularly to the local thrift store and get smaller sizes and buy new tings only on deep discount.

My doctor told me that if I gave up diet soda I would lose and additional 5-10 pounds over the course of the year. That is why i gave them up when I started MFP 400 days ago. I do not miss them, but have no idea if it reduced any cravings because I have never craved sugar, only salt. I don't know if it contributed to my…

I lied by 40 pounds back in the day...now I weigh 35 pounds less than it says!

I do. I just started using a HRM that is much more accurate in showing the calories burned, so I feel confident I am not overestimating. MFP is very generous in their calorie allowance, my HRM shows that I burn about 2/3 of the calories MFP would give me for the same amount of time.

Awwww.....hope you feel better soon. Get out and get some exercise....it really helps when I feel depressed. Getting those endorphins going works womders.

I am 63 years old. At my highest weight I was 248. I am now 173, so I am down 65 pounds to date. (sorry, no pictures). I have another 30 pounds to go but this site has been a tremendous help to me...I have lost 35 pounds since joining here. The support is phenomenal. That is so good to hear. I have been losing and gaining the same two pounds fro the past three weeks now. Do you have any idea how it hppened, or did you just waitit out?
-
I am trying to lose no more than one pound per week and I am coming close to that. I have really changed my eating habits and am doing a lot of exercise to achieve this. I have always lost weight very slowly and in the past I have given up and reverted to my old ways. I have been faithful to this way of life for 6 months…

I am using ground flax seed and it has done the trick. It's easy, imexpensive and good for you. I get it at Trader Joes.

I have been using this site since January. I have a goal of losing 64 lbs. by my 64th birthday "64 by 64" and I am getting close to being half way there (I will be 64 in 2013). I set a goal of 1 pound a week and I have pretty much acheived that goal. I am trying to eat as "cleanly" as possible and am swimming or walking…

Are you kidding me? I really see a difference. We are our own worst critics. Your hard work is really paying off. Pounds are nice to lose, but the goal is fitness and younare making greatmstrides in that department. Keep up the good work.

That is truly wonderful. Congratulations!

I am almost 63. I started MFP this January with the goal of losing 1 pound a week until I get to my goal. This is my 23rd week and I have lost 23 pounds so far, so I am right on track. I know it will take me over a year to get to my goal, which is "64 BY 64". I have done it by changing my eating habits, eating as clean as…

You have lost 6 pounds since May. That is good progress. When I started, I set a goal of 1 pound per week. I have been doing this for 22 weeks and have lost 22 pounds. Sure, I would like to have it happen faster, but I feel that the slow loss means it's gone for good. after all, it didn't go on overnight, and it will not…

That is wonderful. Congratulations. I understand the overwhelmed feeling...I felt that way when I went under 200 for the first time in years. Keep up the good work!

If you're going to be over on something, let it be protein. You are doing fine with the amount you are over, I think.

You look amazing!

Pinot Grigio is pretty low and very refreshing this time of year.

Anything grilled is my solution this time of year. We grill chicken, fish (salmon, trout, rockfish), beef, lamb, pork. There are some amazing grilling recipes on line and it is super easy. We grill veggies, too...pepper, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion. asparagus...all are delicious grilled either in a…
