I'm alright with all three, but buy almond milk. Cow's milk is good, but I already get my calcium from other places. Almond milk also lasts longer then cow's milk expiration date wise, and it takes me awhile to get through my milk since I generally only add it to my cereal.

Currently wearing the Nike Structure; pretty nice shoe. Light weight and really doesn't feel like anything. Already decided on my next shoe though.. The Adidas adistar Boost. Feels like heaven on the feet.

The more you run (day wise), the easier it becomes.. Believe me. Several years ago, I hated running. I could barely run a mile, let alone a 5k. I then followed the c25k program and pushed through to my first 5k. Once I finished that race, I looked back on how far I had come and felt so proud. Now here I am years later…
-
Since this is your first 5K, I would take today off from any strenuous exercise (running, weightlifting, cycling, etc.) Tomorrow you will be energized and ready to go. Have fun.

Good luck to you, hope it works out. I use to drink A LOT back in college, but have limited myself to 1-3 a week. It can be expensive..

This. That, and keeping from fiber filled foods. Normally it's a good thing, but when you're out for awhile, it can become painful..
-
Yes, that is exactly what I meant. If only computers could figure out what word you really wanted to use.. Congratulations to you. I do think it's a choice for people; it's just that some people seem to think that and think it's great, then decide they would rather not be with that person because of the exact same reason.

Depends on when I'm hungry. Eat 3 meals usually; have about 2-3 snacks depending on the day. I don't believe in starving myself.

Jennifer Lawrence. In shape, but obviously has other things going on in life then exercise.

Beer. Not the 64 or light kind either. The good stuff.

Agreed.
-
Agreed. I started running when I was over weight and took of 50-60 pounds. Just take it easy at first and work your way up. Most of all, have fun doing it.

Unfortunately that's what most people want, a easy way to lose weight without changing their lifestyle. That's awesome to hear that you went for your passion. I too someday would like to get a second bachelor's or a master's in physical activity or nutrition. Just graduated from college with a degree in Graphic Design…

Future marathoner here. I also work for a running company, so you can be sure to hear interesting tips from me.

If you enjoy cereal, I suggest GoLean by Kashi with some fruit. I eat it at 6:30am and don't become hungry until noon. It's got protein and fiber in it to keep your stomach content.
-
This has been what I've done before my training plan started. Several experienced marathon runners recommended to just make sure every several weeks to lower your long distance run a few miles just to allow your body to rebuild and adjust itself.
-
@ Arc: No offense taken, I know 26.2 is a different beast. Just wanted to shoot my current longest distance out there so people know I have gone at least that far. @ Nic: Good to know. Thanks for the website. And thank you both for the pointers. We'll see how the first one goes, and then hopefully I can get a 10 miler in…

I am use to running 13.1, but yes the marathon in September will be my first.

As long as you feel okay after eating breakfast and moving on to running, you should be fine. What you described as your warm up sounds reasonable to me. Too much fiber really shouldn't be eaten before a run; because of obvious reasons. As for the others.. Test them out. It really depends on the person whether or not they…

Pumpkin pancakes. Mmm.

You look like you're ready to go out and have a good time. :) Just have fun, it looks good on you.

Vanilla protein powder mixed with water. Ew.

If it's a running day, definitely. Especially my long running day like today (10+ miles.) I too once suffered from an eating disorder.. And there are days that I look at myself in the mirror and poke my stomach wondering if what I see there essential or just extra flab. Then everyone smacks me for thinking that and I go…

Honestly everyone has a different body shape, regardless of their body fat percentage. For me, size 4 is the healthy size that allows me to be fit and run marathons whereas that is size 6 for someone else.
-
I am 5'6" with a small-medium build. I was original at 120-125 but ended up becoming sick because of it with all of the running around I did. Now I am a runner that weighs in between 130-135. I am healthy and proud of where I'm at.

Rice mixed with ketchup. They won't even try it.

I have been using the same scale though (really the only scale I have at my disposal.)
-
Believe me when I say I understand where you are coming from. I myself still deal with that sore subject every time I face off the bathroom scale (hence why I am not allowed to own one anymore.) My best advice is talk to someone you know. Face to face, not over the internet or the telephone. It will mean a lot more to you…

I, for the first time in several months, did circuit weight training Wednesday morning for 30 minutes. Haven't done it since because my muscles have been so sore, but I continue to run. Does it really just take one workout to change weight so much?
-
It's been 2-3 weeks since I last weighted myself. Thanks everyone for your feedback. It's just deeply concerning to me that this creeped up out of no where.
