  • Get any tempting food out of your house. Will power can only do so much. You need to also make sure you pay attention to the mental issues behind your eating habits. If you can at least recognize them, it will help.
  • Fresh fruit, definitely helps. Something that has worked for both my mother and I for sweet cravings is to cut up an apple and mix in vanilla extract and cinnamon. Its healthy, and usually helps.
  • On a rare occasion I will eat these. A lot of time when I'm in a pinch, I resort to a low sodium soup instead or my favorite is to bring packaged salad and chicken to store in the fridge at work so I have a quick healthy lunch for a few days.
  • totally agree with the intervals of walking/running. thats how i trained for my first 5k w/in a year of having my baby...i was so out of shape and after about 2 weeks of intervals, i was running the full 30 mins.
  • low sugar whole grain cereals w/ skim milk, or lower-sugar instant oatmeal (i just cant do plain) are two of my favs. I also do Brown N' Serve turkey sausage most mornings, it takes 30 secs in the microwave and they're yummy.
  • I like all kinds of music and switch it up once and a while, but i love all kinds of hip hop for my work outs...the beats just make me want to keep moving. Black Eyed Peas are one of my favorites to work out to.
  • not sure what your exercise routines are like, or if you have a good bit of muscle, but i was wondering the same until i realize that the only reason im the smallest size ive ever been since before puberty even though ive weighed less than i do now has to be b/c of muscle.
  • I'm 5' 6" (5.75") 153 lbs and size 6-8 pants, medium tops.
  • i used to until i vowed to log my bad food choices too...that meant logging the drinks and pizza etc. when you see how many calories all that stuff is it really curbs your behaviors. I still have my wine once or twice a weekend, but i alot a set amount into my calories. I eat take out once a week, but no matter how bad the…
  • i drink hot tea, and do something to keep my hands busy. if that doesnt work...brush your teeth after dinner, no food tastes good after you brush your teeth
  • dealing with the same thing right now...except my daughter was born last may and i gained about 60lbs.....ive lost all the baby weight and working towards my ideal weight, but my tummy still looks gross... i definately admire your ambition for a bikini...i havent gained that much confidence in myself for that just…
  • totally agree with setting small goals. you get this rush of know youve achieved them and are encouraged to go further.....before you know it youve run longer than you could before. BTW i have no clue what this C25K progam is but I just run and do intervals to up my distance and speed
  • noticed your not tracking your sugar, fruits are better choices, but some can still have loads of natural sugar I usually limit myself to 2 fruits a day and have nuts or veggies for snacks when i'm hungry. also need more lean protein and complex carbs.
  • i've been wondering the same. I bought it two weeks ago and end up doing some running on the treadmil after most nights just to get in extra cardio. one good way to fight out would probably be to get a HRM to see how many calories are burned doing it, i just cant afford a good one right now and dont want to buy a cheap one.
  • today...someone at work finally said something about me losing alot of weight, ( i work w/ mostly men and its in appropriate for them to comment). Also recenlty discovered i have a cute butt under my flab... ...YAY:happy:
  • drink lots of water, eat lean protein with your three major meals, eat slow. You'll really notice a difference just by doing that. Make sure that when you are doing carbs that they're complex (whole wheat, grains etc.). Also, make sure your getting enough fiber. certain foods like salty or sugary foods are actually hunger…
  • agree with the good shoes thing. Also, my track coach in HS always told use to alternate ice and heat for them.
  • thanks everyone.....sounds like im going to try to vary it up some more. i dont want to get stuck at the same weight for eating too few calories or have my healthy food choices stored as fat. Its hard sometimes to make myself eat more w/o feeling guilty.
  • i have to talk myself out of feeling guilty for eating something unhealthy alot (and i rarely eat seriously calorie rich foods these days). I'm learning that its okay in moderation, and more imporatntly guilt and self-defeating attitude leads to weight loss failure...whatever you do don't say "i blew it at breakfast so i…
  • i always try to push through the tough part to get my second wind and reach my runner's high. Also...to help keep you from getting thirsty, try chewing gum. I know it probably sounds weird but it really helps me and i feel like it regulates my breathing some too.
  • definately agree that you should make sure your getting enough calories through the day. I know that when i have had a light lunch I come home starving and struggle with urges to snack. On top of making sure you have enough calories, make sure your getting enough protein, its a hunger surpressor. Drink lots of water and…
  • welcome! the more support the better your chances of sucess. feel free to add me
  • I would wish you good luck, but luck wont make us skinny, its hard work....so i'll say "Your tough, you can do this!" Losing weight is hard, but if you have the right tools and right thinking, its just a little bit easier. :-D
  • i've been in the same boat for the past few days. I just made an extra effort to stay within my calories today and amped up my exercise today. I know most people dont advise dropping below the 1200, but as long as you dont go below 1000, you should be okay.
  • i think allowing yourself an entire day of no counting carefree eating is a bad idea. I do, however, think its important to have one meal a week that you aren't calorie concious...but even then its important to keep portions under control. If you deprive yourself all together, you will wear yourself down mentally and…
  • In the long run, i think yes, it abosolutely matters what type of foods you eat. In the short term, not really because if you consume less calories than your body burns, you will lose weight. Its been my personal experience that I feel like what I eat...if i eat crap, i feel like crap. If your looking for long term weight…
  • the onl y thing that has ever worked (and kept the pounds off) is calorie counting...this makes it soo much easier not only to keep track, but to find others to keep motivated.
  • be honest with yourself on your entries, even if you have a bad day (especially then). Its much easier to correct/modify your eating excersing habits if you can see it for yourself. If you eat a milkshake, log it in...seeing the calories is a good deterrant. Good luck!
  • When I ran track in high school, we would always "carboload" the night before a meet. It was always bread and pasta, and it always seemed to help. Try whole grain pasta
  • buy a V.S. bathing suit, buy jeans, and set different exercise goals to keep it going.
