Ha. I am fortunate to have a locker room at work and a flexible lunch. We have 4-5 guys out for 24 milers almost everyday. Couple of miles warm up/down to a little-used bike path (that's when the fun begins). Will be out of the country for the month of August, so won't be able to do that challenge.

7/23 - 24 easy miles 7/24 - 24 miles. HIIT (1/4 mile pulls at max effort). Ouch. 618 miles and counting.

If you can't get used to the Look pedals, consider some speedplays. They are very easy to get in and out of. Standing on hills is not easy. Something you will want to build up to. It does burn more calories, cause it requires a lot more energy than peddling while sitting down.

What was going to be a short, easy spin ended up as a long, hard ride. 45 miles at an average pace of 20+mph. Okay, easy one tomorrow, for sure. 570 miles for the month.
