    Forgot to post my miles from weekend ride - 37 miles in 2 hr 17 min (barely above 16 avg).

    Totals for the month:
    Road bike 326
    Spin class 282

    Some of you guys must not have day jobs with some of the mileages I am seeing. :smokin: Incredible.

    I'm lucky enough to work for myself - I still do the hours of graft, I just take either a late start or a 3 hour lunch break for my riding, and make it up in the evening instead of sitting in front of the idiots lantern watching some mind-numbing pap.
  • New here...rode 50 miles on Saturday. Training for California Coastal Cycling Ride for Arthritis which takes place in September - 150 miles in 2 days.. Started riding again in June.

    I finished the month with my BEST/Longest ride {stationary bike - knee's still not ready for outside}:

    122.35 for the month - I'm happy with that given cicrumstances!! :-)

    Food poisoning/ too sick to workout
    Sun Jul 15 - 60min bike (18 hrs 45min left)

    Weds Jul 17 - 45min bike -speed w/o (17hrs 30min left)
    (Also doing the 24hr workout in July)

    Didn't finish the 24hr challenge for mo of July but planned to make it in August.
    Wish I knew how many miles I'm riding; just going by time since I use a bike
    trainer inside.

    I have been doing at least one longish ride (28 to 35 miles) and 1 to 2 shorter rides (12 to 20 miles) per week since the end of May. Now that the weather has improved, no reason not to step it up. Maybe bump it up to 2 longer rides per week and one shorter one, or about 80 to 90 miles a week, or 320 to 360 miles total by the end of the month. Also, by July 31, I intend to ride 48 miles on my 48th Birthday, though it may have to be the day before because of work commitments. Already planning out the route, which may just combine a 28 mile loop and a 20 mile loop.

Now that the weather has improved, no reason not to step it up. Maybe bump it up to 2 longer rides per week and one shorter one, or about 80 to 90 miles a week, or 320 to 360 miles total by the end of the month. Also, by July 31, I intend to ride 48 miles on my 48th Birthday, though it may have to be the day before because of work commitments.     I just wanted to tell you that that is awesome! My longest rides are around 20-25 miles. Even that hasn't been for several months due to bad weather or busy children. Good luck with your birthday ride!:happy:
