I'd love to join this challenge thread. I'm still building up my stamina, but really enjoy riding. I own a Trek 7.2 FX that I've had for a few years, but haven't ridden as much as I would like to. Perhaps joining this will help. Not sure exactly what I want to keep track of but for today:
    15 minutes - 2.25 miles (it's a start!)

    ~Bonnie

Adding the cool ticker someone above mentioned!

My wife introduced me to the site just last week so I'm pretty new around here!! But I would like to join up with the group. I'm gonna try to track both miles and time. So far this month.
    1.8 hours
    24 miles.
I also am working on the couch to 5K, so I have set a goal of 30 miles per week on the bike to go with my walk/run.
Hoping to hit 120 miles for the month.

I don't have a milage computer on my bike, so I try to estimate my miles per Mapquest. Last night I rode for 3 hours, about 10 - 12 MPH (not too fast since it's been hot around here and I only have an old, heavy mountain bike). So I'm guessing it was around 30 miles. (Actually, I rode for 3.75 hours, but that's including 3 long breaks I took to catch my breath!)

To everyone whose butt hurts: I bought a special, wide, super-gel-padded touring seat, and the butt bruises are mostly a thing of the past (unless I ride on a boardwalk - that hurts the next day no matter what.) No need for padded bike shorts if you have a super-padded seat.

Hello my cycling friends, I see great inputs from you all.

Today was a spin class day for me. I arrived about 20 minutes early and was able to work hard for 75 minutes. Mileage (according to spin bike) was 28 miles. Next class is Saturday.

(Kate, I envy your rain! I would dearly love some rain here)

Spin class this morning. I was a little early, so able to ride a total of 72 minutes for 26 miles.

Sunday I'll get out my road bike and try for at least 30 miles (hope the weather cooperates)

I love the motivation of this!!
I am also on a stationary bike for the time being due to still in recovery from major knee surgery (knee cap doesn't like to stay where it should). Cycling's about the only 'exercise' I can do, and work on getting my knee to bend comfortably again.

Right now I'm averaging about 20-30 minutes per 'ride' . . . have to build up to what most of you are doing, but reading about it will help inspire me :-)

Great ride today, we went for a 9.16 Miles ( 14.75 km) in 50 min. Average speed 10.98 MPH to 24.83 MPH.

Can't get my ticker to download, What am I doing wrong ????????

On the last page, when it says ticker done, there is a bbCode. You'll need to copy and paste it in your posting.

Count me in! I ride regularly, 4-5 times a week until the days get too short to ride after work. My goal is to put at least 750 more miles by the end of this year. Anyway, my ticker (that hopefully will post correctly) only shows miles I've ridden since the beginning of July.

    Today's ride:

    31.5 miles

    14.7 mph

    2 hours 10 minutes

    1521 calories burned

Been cycling about 2 months. Best thing I have done fitness wise. Doing 25 to 30 miles on Saturdays and 12 to 15 on Tuesdays. Still going to gym too but the riding is the best part. I would like to see more people take it up.

Got my new Trek Hybrid FX 7.3 two days ago for my fat *kitten* to ride.

    5.4 miles the first day
    6 miles the second day.

    My *kitten* hurts lol

I have the same bike and am really enjoying it. Logged about 200 miles so far with no issues. Keep up the riding.

I just got a bike yesterday. Super excited but I haven't ridden a bike in 20 years. I have been exercising for the last year but I now live somewhere were I can store the bike so it was a wedding present to myself..(just got married last Sat)

So for starters I'm going to ride around my apartment complex while I get used to it again.

I did about 2.5+ miles this morning and I may just hop on it later in the day.

The gears are a little confusing but I'm not going up hills anytime soon =)

Glad I found this group =)
