I hope that everyone is keeping up with their goals. I've not been able to get on my bike all week. I hope to be back at it in a day or two.

No biking all week long.... life gets in my way! Went out today, though!

    Time : 1 hour 41 minutes
    Cadence goal : 80
    Distance 26.17 mi
    Average speed: 15.4
    Calories burned per HRM: 1354

    Sunburn? Yes.

Also, I picked up the dry Refresher packets at Starbucks yesterday. I love the canned refreshers, but was intrigued by a packet dry powder with green coffee extract. I slammed a canned one at the gas station around mile 14, then mixed the powder into a bottle of water for the way back, and at about mile 20 I felt like I was ready to take the world, while the first portion of the ride I was barely moving along, dragging. I'm a total believer now. I think I will pack one in my bike jersey for every ride. I used very berry hibiscus flavor today, but the cool lime is awesome, too!

1.5 hours on the roadbike, and 10 hours on the Mountain bike for last week.
Started this week off with 2 hours on the road bike this morning (57 km at an average of 30 Km/hr), and hopefully can get a MTB ride in this evening.

What are these Starbucks refresher packs?? I am intrigued.

    Hi everyone,

I had a spin class yesterday and road bike ride this morning. On our ride this morning, I saw a goat with its head stuck in the fence (a wire "mesh" of squares - large enough for the goat to poke its head through, but then couldn't pull back out). It was baaaing piteously, so we stopped and looked for a sign of the owner's house. Never found it, so my husband climbed precariously through the drainage ditch and was able to free the poor animal. When he got back, there was thick sticky mud on his cycling shoes. What a mess! He was finally able to get cleaned up enough to clip back into his pedals and we made it safely home.

Hope everyone is having good rides - just stay out of the mud

May have to try the Refreshers also.

I started wearing Pearl Izumi sun sleeves to protect my arms from the sun. I was tired of slapping on sun screen so tried them out. Mine are white in color and I really like them. They have a mesh underneath and once they get wet from sweat or you pour water on them from your water bottle you get a cooling effect. At my age my arms have taken a beating over the years of playing golf. They wash and wear well. There are other brands out there, but these are the only ones I've tried.
