Yoga will help tone your core, give you better posture and more length and help you drop those last few pounds. Give it a try!
-
Your monthly cycle will affect your weight and can make you look bloated. My money is on that. Are you exercising that core and your legs? Without that you will be thin but not toned..

Either oatmeal with fruit (and going to start adding protein powder) and a hard cooked egg on the side or three egg whites and one whole egg scrambled., sometimes with added veggies.
-
BS. I have great leg muscles as a result of my cardio work. I've built muscle there. It didn't show up because I was sitting on the sofa watching TV.
-
Both. Spend 15 minutes with cardio and 30 lifting, or better yet, do interval training. You need cardio to build maximum lung and heart function. Lifting alone won't do that.

I power walk five miles every morning at a 13:30 pace. That's considerably less than the 15 minute pace you need to finish the race in. You've got the speed, now just build your endurance. Four months is plenty of time to do that in.
-
I've been asthmatic my entire life. I'm finding the the more in shape I get, the less it bothers me! I power walk. Start slowly, do a mile at about 3 mph (20 minutes) build your distance to three miles, then try to increase your pace. I prefer walking through my neighborhood to using the treadmill. There's an app called…

I agree with this. A lot of people that pass me in their car every morning have begun to wave or even give a short honk. Many are women. They aren't cat calling but being friendly and encouraging. :)
-
Not really as it's safety related. No different than not allowing a person who uses a cane the exit row seat on a plane.
-
Gross. He would have a broken hand--or worse--if he tried that with me.
-
Congratulations on your sobriety. One day at a time!
-
I'd rather have a guy just lift a brow and smile. You know the look. Cat calls are trashy and ignorant.

People can enjoy a drink without becoming intoxicated. I drink wine. Properly paired it enhances the flavors in my dinner. People who think anyone who ever has a drink must be an out of control raging alcoholic on a constant bender are either incredibly naive or religious zealots.
-
I speedwalk/powerwalk/racewalk as well, and am faster than may of the joggers in my neighborhood. I also won't have the hip and knee joint problems that many of them will eventually develop. ;)
-
It has nothing to do with their safety but that of other runners. Even Disney excludes them.
-
It probably averages out to a couple glasses of red wine a week on a monthly basis. Red wine has healthy properties, as long as it fits your macros and calories.
-
The only thing you refuse to do is admit you were wrong, even with the evidence handed to you. By the way, you'll be my age someday.
-
As I said, you are adding lean muscle. Worry more about what the tape measure says than what the scale says. If you are eating a calorie deficit and not losing inches, see a doctor.
-
No, that's not a fact. Many manufacturers classify size 10 as a medium. http://www.eileenfisher.com/EileenFisherCompany/PopUpGeneralContentPages/OurFit.jsp http://www.ralphlauren.com/info/infoPop.jsp?categoryId=1958741&backTo=1958741&infoType=infosport JC Penney and Macy's do as well.
-
Use bands and your own body.
-
I didn't say you did want it, and sadly you are missing the point. A size 10 doesn't mean someone is overweight or "large." And trust me, you don't have 17% body fat--easy to see that by your boobs and your face.
-
You don't have 17% body fat. When you do, come back and tell me that someone who is 6' tall with 17% body fat should wear a smaller size.
-
"might be"? I hope you are kidding. My friend has 17% body fat. Somehow I don't think there is any question that she's "okay." My guess is that you dream of having the body she does.
-
I've never seen a race that allows a walker. Most specifically refuse walkers and canes. Some fun walks allow them, but races? Not that I've ever seen.
-
It's not large for some people. I have a friend who is 6' tall, abs of steel and 17% body fat. She wears a 10. She's waiting for me to get back to a 6 so she can have all of my size 10's.

Yoga! No crunches! A good yoga teacher can help you modify poses to work with your physical limitations and still build core strength. (My trainer tried to get me to do crunches the other day and I looked at him like he had five eyes--we don't do crunches in yoga!)
-
Oh for crying out loud. It's 3.1 miles, not an ultra-marathon. You can leisurely walk it in well under an hour. Don't even mention it again until after the race, and then proudly tell him how well you did.
-
Compare apples to apples. How is your diet then and now? Also you shouldn't be relying just on weight but also body fat measurements and measurements in general. If you are working out as hard as you say, you are building lean muscle which adds weight.

#7, but I think you look great with your hair pulled back. You can put it in a ponytail or wrap it into a elegant chignon, or wear it in a sleek braid.

Glazed donuts. It's not just the calories, but also the crap that is in the food. I can make healthy pizza with whole grain and organic ingredients--top thin crust with caramelized onions, feta cheese, and sliced Roma tomatoes for a relatively healthy and low cal pie that is amazing. I haven't yet been able to figure out…
