Shift everything back by a day and do the long run on Saturday. Problem solved.
-
I'm not a runner, I power walk five miles a day, 10 on Sundays. At my normal pace, a 5K would take me just over 37 minutes.

Making the decision to change your life by yourself and for yourself is the hardest part--and you've accomplished that! Good luck--we're here for you!
-
Crowds, decor, food, atmosphere, service. It's definitely not for everyone.
-
Are you drinking enough water? That will help you feel full. If your stomach is growling, feed it. Otherwise, have a cup of tea or glass of water and wait 20 minutes. That should resolve the problem.
-
I would speak to your therapist about this. I'm certainly no expert, but I'm guessing that a few sessions of biofeedback might really help you overcome this problem. Good luck!
-
Why not? I had a couple glasses of wine last night, I've already done 20 minutes of yoga and a five miles run.

I had just the opposite situation with food on Disney. They bent over backwards to make sure my dietary needs were met--particularly when it came to allergies. (Unlike Royal Caribbean who were terrible about it!) I also thought Disney had the least nickel and dime stuff of all the non-luxury/all-inclusive cruises I've been…

Take the Paul Guaguin Tahiti and the Society Islands cruise--you overnight in port at least a couple of the nights.

You think it's great only because you have nothing else to compare it to, and based on your previous post you were all about getting hammered, so in that case, Carnival is probably a good choice for you. It is a very poor choice for many. I can't suggest strongly enough that people research the demographic that sails on a…

Planks are an excellent way to build core strength. I do them daily as part of my yoga routine. If done correctly they'll work on your arms, core, thighs, and calves all at the same time. There are a number of different variations, mix them up for the best results.

I haven't been on either of those, but a different ship with sails on another line. It was outstanding.
-
I've only gotten seasick once--the entire ship was seasick--we hit hurricane force winds. Pretty miserable and nothing worked.
-
That's exactly what is happening, As long as you are seeing a difference, don't worry about the scale. Edited to add--I looked at your diary, I'd probably try to cut down on some of those carbs and add more lean meats or whole grains.

That advice depends on the cruise and the port. Sometimes you'll find that a cruise line "Buys Out" popular things like dolphin swims and only those booked through the line can be accommodated. There are some places that aren't accessible by just walking or even taking a cab/bus/train where you don't have much of a choice…

Not as important on the luxury ships with port intensive itineraries.

Walk/jog/run. Free other than a decent pair of running shoes. Borrow yoga/pilates DVD's from your library--spent $20 on a mat, blocks, and bands. Remember the exercises you did in 4th grade gym class? Jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups/crunches, squat thrusts, jump rope, bend over and touch your toes, hands and feet on the…

Parking has never been free at any Port that DCL has cruised from. That said, the parking costs at Port Canaveral have almost tripled in the past dozen or so years.

Keep in mind that if you are doing aerobic exercise and sweating a lot, you are excreting a lot of sodium that needs to be replenished. (Think about how your skin feels like it does after you swim in the ocean--that sticky feeling--or burns when you step into the shower from the salt activating with the water.) Gatorade…

Get yourself some Wright Socks double layer socks--they are miraculous--use nip guards and plenty of Body Glide. You won't be cold. I was out in 51 degree weather yesterday pre-dawn in a tank top and running shorts and got soaked when one of the irrigation zones in the neighborhood came on unexpectedly. My body was…

Natural sugar (in moderation) isn't bad for you. Processed crap is. First of all, don't shop on an empty stomach and don't buy junk to keep in the house. If it's not there, you can't eat it. Buy healthy fruits like berries--I like berries because I only eat one at a time so it takes a long time to eat 1/2 cup of them. I…

This is exactly what is happening with me--to the point that I've added five pounds to my target weight. I can see the lean muscle building on my calves and quads, arms, and can feel it under my rapidly diminishing belly fat. As long as my clothes are getting looser and the tape measure is showing inches lost, I'm not all…

I've been asthmatic my entire life. With the proper plan which will include the right meds FOR YOU, you will be able to exercise. I run five miles a day and do an hour of yoga. I've changed my meds here and there over the years, and tried new ideas even when i thought my MD was nuts. For example, she read an article that…

I use it on my daily 5-10 mile trek. I like to mix up my routes through the neighborhood so I don't get bored. I have it on my phone, it tracks the exact route with GPS and then spits out my miles, time, pace, splits, and calories burned. I just wish it would integrate with MFP so I don't have to manually enter the…

First of all, soda is free on Disney. Second, there's no need to schlep a case of water. Bring refillable water bottles and refill on board. The ships water is made the same way as Dasani, it's very good.

They aren't that expensive as long as your don't go over a major holiday. I've sailed on them a few times.
-
I agree with don't overpack, but the rest of this advice is going to greatly depend on where you are cruising. I was on a two week Med cruise last summer and never wore a bathing suit--too chilly to swim most days, and with 12 ports in 14 days, who had time? Even on Caribbean cruises, depending on your preferences you…

Parking isn't included.

Lean beef is 50 calories per ounce. When I went to school, that's 800 calories for a one pound steak.

We did, and thanks. I agree, feeding your guests fast food is really shameful. It would be one thing if the bride and groom were truly poor, she was wearing a gown from a second hand shop or a simple white dress bought off the sale rack at TJ Maxx, but that isn't the case here.
