I have been a vegetarian for 4 years. I just quit eating meat one day and haven't gone back. I read the book "Skinny *****" and became more aware of what was really in some of the things I had been eating. I also really recommend reading Dr. Joel Fuhrman's book, "Eat to Live". For awhile I was a bad vegetarian, meaning I…

Thank you for posting this. I agree.

I think sugar is addicting - at least for me it is. Once I start eating sweets, I usually can't stop. I pretty much have to just not eat cookies and cake. The only thing that really keeps me in line is working out. It gives me more will power and makes me not want to blow my workout by overeating. I also try to eat lots of…

I work out at the Y. My main gym is Baxter, but I also take Pilates classes at the Indy Bike Hub Y.

I completely agree. Men should have hair. Being clean and shaving your face is plenty.

I went to see the movie over the weekend. Lots of eye candy. There were a couple brave men there with their wives, but mostly a chick event. Definitely worth seeing. Channing Tatum is amazing. My hubby did not go with me. He wanted no part of it.

I have been a vegetarian for 3 years. I did it for ethical, health and environmental reasons. I would never judge anyone else for what they eat or be so rude as to insult a stranger in a public restaurant. If someone sincerely wants to know my reasons for choosing to be a vegetarian, I am happy to talk about it. Otherwise,…

I have been a vegetarian for 3 years. I love to cook. I experiment all the time with different recipes. If you enjoy cooking and lots of different veggies, you have it made. I make soups, salads, wraps, stir-fries, enchiladas, italian pastas, roasted veggies, vegetable shishkabobs, fritattas. I have found lots of recipes…

This is great advice. I have weekend cravings too. I think you have more time available to think about goodies and to my dismay... my family still snacks and eats junk like crazy. I find that if I work out it helps me control cravings. I try to stay away from the kitchen as much as possible... at night especially.

I haven't seen this. I will have to try to watch it on Netflix. Is it similar to Food, Inc.??

I don't care what anyone wears to the gym as long as they are there. It's being there and working out that matters. If it is motivating to you to look good, then go for it. Whatever gets you there is what you should do. I do roll out of bed at 4:30 a.m. so I can be at the gym at 5:00 a.m. So I don't particularly care if I…

Great thread. I feel the same way. Anyone trying to better themselves should be applauded. Everyone is at a different place in their journey, what matters is your are working toward your goal. Don't let anyone stop you. Go for it !!!

Get up at 4:30 (ugh) No snooze cause hubby gets mad when alarm goes off 18 times in the morning before he has to get up. Then immediately make coffee. Wash face and put hair up (try to look human). Put on work out stuff, grab water bottle, coffee and go to gym. Work out for 30-45 min. Come home...more coffee. Eat…

I have tried it and I like it. But it definitely is denser and has a little grainier texture than most breads. I have also read that sprouted grains have more nutritional value.

I exercise in the morning because if I don't fit it in early (5 a.m.) then I don't always have time or other things get in the way. I have also heard, don't know how true it is, that it doesn't matter how long you exercise at one time, so you could try 20 minutes in the morning and 20 later in the day. Depends on what your…
