You're close to your goal...slower will be better and more do-able. If you're that active...then yes, you should be eating more and eating back mort of your burn. Well done!

the dreaded "starvation mode" doesn't happen in one day. Or one week. What it is is damage to your metabolism from undereating for a prolonged time. Not eating enough makes your metabolism slow down...to try to save your life--your body thinks theres a famine. That's partly why you are supposed to eat back your exercise…

um MFP doesn't figure in your exercise until you log it. So, yes, she should be eating back most of those calories, and calories remaining should be close to 0. Net should read 1490.

If what he does worked...he wouldn't be needing to do it again. Or try this hard. He's messed up his metabolism, I'm sure. However...he is an adult, and is perfectly entitled to be wrong if he wants to be.....

Calm down. Just track your calories...the other stuff isn't as important, as long as you're getting a good variety of stuff. And bland...is for babies. Spice up your food! wait...I bet you're trying to stay at 1200 calories too.....don't do that! I lost all this weight eating over 1600. Plus exercise calories. And eating…

if coffee is bad I don't want to live anymore. Coffee is fine. Putting a lot of sugar and stuff in it not so fine. (no judgement....I do it.) I like coffee. There's no reason not to enjoy something I like. I'm not being punished. Neither are you.

You probably need to eat more....1200 is too low for most people. I hope you're taking a multivitamin.

I am always amazed that so many people think MFP sets everyone at 1200. It doesn't. There's nothing magic about that number, and its really too low for most people (not all...). Ive lost all this weight eating what MFP set me at....1610. If I'd only tried to eat 1200...I would have been miserable, and would have quit long…

More protein....good! more fiber...also good unless you're having intestinal distress from it. Otherwise...good!

Re vlcd ....I hope you're working with a doctor. You'll need one. And the weight you lose? It will be back and bring friends with it. Been there, done that, don't want the tshirt anymore.

While peanuts are healthy and do have protein and good fats....they ARE NOT low in calories. A small handful can replace a whole meal...calorie wise. Id rather have a bit more volume than that, plus its easy to just mindlessly binge on peanuts.

If you're hungry....eat. Hunger is normal...your body is telling you it needs some fuel. The trick is...are you really hungry, or just want to eat? Drink some water, wait a bit....still hungry? Then have a healthy snack to tide you over til mealtimes. Something with some protein and a little fat will satisfy you longer…

this! well said.

you don't have to exercise. Use the MFP calculations..the deficit is built in, you will lose. I am concerned that you are saying "1200 or less". Don't do less. Please. You'll hurt yourself in the long run...and make it harder to lose, and harder to maintain.

Please read the FAQs on how MFP works. You are supposed to eat back those calories you burn off...and if your goal is that low, you really must. You aren't eating enough to properly fuel your body and brain if you're netting so little. MFP builds in a deficit at the front end. You CAN do this...do it healthy!

I LOVE those cocoa roasted almonds. Sams Club sells them in a half gallon jar size. I could eat the whole thing in just a couple of days, though, so I keep walking. The 100 calorie packs are a blessing!

It sounds delish...I have that for a snack now and then. Keep in mind though...granola is pretty high in calories. I tend to use it more as a garnish...especially the gingersnap granola I can get at our natural foods grocery. great on yogurt and banana slices.

Please don't do this crazy thing. You will hurt yourself. And you will put all the weight back on..with interest. Do it the healthy way. (Plus...do you really want to go through life only eating enough to keep a bird alive? Food is good. Food is good for you. Food is not the enemy.)
-
its only a half a pound. this is perfectly normal fluctuation...don't stress.

a little vanilla almond milk, cinnamon, a little brown sugar. Sometimes in the winter I cook it with some pumpkin. yum.

congrats to both of you! Many happy and healthy years together! Amazing how love will find you in unexpected ways.

crabs are bad for you! my friend did a crab lifestyle thing...and lost his girlfriend to a high crab fisherman! It was sad! It took gallons of drawn butter to console him!

Youre not eating enough. Change your loss goal to one or one and a half pounds a week, that gives you more calories. Plus..YES you need to be eating back your burned calories, especially if you're sticking with such a low calorie goal. Your are trying to fuel your body and brain on only 600 calories a day. Bad Bad Bad. And…
-
yup. this.

Input your numbers into the MFP program...it will GIVE you a calorie goal. Do NOT tell it you want to lose 2 lbs a week...that is guaranteed to give you a level of 1200 calories---not enough. Go for a pound a week. The deficit is built in...you will lose even if you don't exercise. If you DO exercise...a good idea....eat…

Too much anything will make you gain weight. Calories count, no matter where they come from.

We don't eat Chinese food often...but I have NO intention of stopping it...I love it! And what are these "leftovers" you refer to?

I try to get there three times a week (I do walk outside at least once or twice a week too). Normally I do half an hour of cardio...more on the weekend. I do a circuit of some of the machines too a couple of times a week, hitting each muscle group at least twice over the week.
