Thank you Corey! I do have vibrams but have not run much in them due to some other issues but I think once (if ) I start back running, I will go that route. I have read Marathoning for Mortals but will get the Running Barefoot book. Thank you for giving me encouragement that running is not a thing of my past but hopefully…

Sorry to hear of all your issues.... I also have had neck fusion. I wish you the best also... frustrating getting older!! I still think the most important thing to do is keep our bodies moving. I plan on doing acupuncture as that helped me with some hip issues I was having and hoping it can do the same for my elbow and…

Thanks all... I certainly won't do anything until given doctor's okay... he does want me up and moving and walking right now so will have to settle for that... unfortunately, I cannot work upper body due to tendinitis in my elbow...

Unfortunately, I don't have a passion for the other activities, mountain biking terrifies me, road biking I am not a fan of unless it is a leasurely hill-less route. No place to swim on a regular basis... my gym does not have rowing... I don't really have much weight to lose but I am sure every little bit helps... I guess…

I have been taking a glucosamine/chondroiten supplement for some time...

Sorry you have daily pain... I only get the pain when I run or if I pivot wrong on that particular leg... I believe my is considered either ostearthritis or degenerative joint disease so I believe a bit different situation than RA.

once you have run a 5K you will keep wanting to do them... I know in my town you can find one to do almost every weekend. I know people that do a few halves a year too. Are you doing the C25K program... good way to get you to running a 5K in 8 weeks.

I agree the word "bullying" is not the right word here... but I still see no need for rudeness, snarkiness, no it all attitude when someone is asking for help... there is a nice way to say things and a not so nice way.... and why do people post just a snarky comment only and not offer any helpful advice?? If you cannot…

Try drinking a glass of water... or maybe even a glass of milk to give you some more substance. If you cannot go to the fridge to get the milk, I would put a cooler by my bed! Make sure you are eating regularly throughout the day and not depriving yourself. I always have a snack before bed because if I go to bed the…

I agree with you 100%... sometimes I am leery to post something. You can have an opinion but you should not criticize someone for doing something... I don't always agree with what others are doing but if I voice my opinion I will say something like, well this worked for me. Some people don't get that it is not a one size…

Moving Comfort is the only thing that has kept my girls in check  ... you can get them online . I am a runner and they are also comfortable... Luna and Maia are my favs but you can enter info for the type of activity you need it for, high impact, medium, light and they will suggest bras for you.

IT band or patellofemoral syndrome... I was diagnosed with the latter, unfortunately, because I am a runner, the doctor just wrote me off as having runner's knee (patellofemoral syndrome). However, went for a second opinion a few months later because the pain came back on my first run after months off and he sent me for an…

Thanks all. I am just having a minor surgery, meniscal repair. It is the inactivity that is really going to be bothering me... I cannot even do upper body currently since I have a bad case of tennis elbow right now for which they will be injecting while I am in surgery. I will have to go back and figure what my calories…

eat when you are hungry... I do not believe it matters when you eat although you will probably here some arguments on that.. I usually don't have food until about 2 to 2.5 hours after waking up but do have my hot lemon water and coffee.
