It sure is! This happened to me also. I lost, then a few weeks into it I seemed to gain half of what I lost. But within 3 weeks (eta: after that), I lost not only my initial loss but then some. I guess it takes a while for our bodies to adjust; try to take heart during those up & downs.

Inspires by words, inspires by example! GREAT.

I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated! Try to think of what you've done so far in a different way. For example, I know the 5 years have seemed eternal to you, but there are people on here who have been at it even longer, and can actually look to your 75-pound-loss as an inspiration that makes them think they could…

If your diary is accurate, your net caloric intake has been really low lately. Make sure you net enough calories, especially when adding as much exercise as you sometimes do. Good luck!
-
Go to Community -> Groups and search for kidney. You'll see a group called Kidney Disease Champions. Good luck!

Eyes open, inspiration all around us. Nice :)

It's only been ten days, though - stick with it; the scale will catch up
-
Just make sure your net calories are high enough so that it doesn't feel like a wisdom-tooth diet. If I felt restricted most days, I would be binging most days. Good luck!

Actually I think I have this issue too, somewhat. My face looks noticeably thinner on some days, and noticeably-not on others, regardless of my weight. This is without me looking for changes intentionally, but we're always aware on some level that we are working to improve ourselves. It's a gradual process and a subjective…

If your intention is to leave sweets behind so you can lessen (maybe kill) those cravings, just take it one day at a time, and keep fighting it. You'll find lots of tips here from others who have traveled and are traveling the same path. Others prefer to find healthier versions of the foods they really love; in that case…

Seeing a professional would probably be very beneficial; there are many different treatment options and different types of professionals you could work with: http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/uploads/file/toolkits/NEDA-TKP-B01-TreatmentsAvailable.pdf You can also find support here in the meantime. Go under Community…

From your other post... you didn't give this enough time! Here you go, a previous thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/474839-foods-that-make-you-poo

Because you're referring to yourself in the past, how you were or what you did then. Looking backward keeps you rooted in expectations based on past experience, makes you feel more helpless than you are. If you keep focusing on what's behind you, you may miss the doors opening in front of you!

2 weeks old but bumping. I'm seeing a lot of posts that could benefit from this.

Well done!

Lead by example. Maybe for this you could spend some time in the kitchen (hers or yours) and try cooking new recipes together, with the emphasis being on the recipe seeming similar to what she would normally enjoy (less emphasis on the interesting 'healthicized' components). Don't talk about caloric content or how the…

Maybe you could try monitoring/lowering sodium intake or increasing water for the week & see if that helps.
-
I'm not sure of the answer, so bumping for you. In the meantime, try not to feel discouraged; you should be beaming! I think sufficient intake should minimize lean muscle loss and keep you healthier while losing, so even if your loss includes water, that is still a loss, still in the direction of better health.

Thanks for sharing

Come back, Lion. You can't give up now. Hope is what keeps us alive.

Hi; I believe the poster meant BMR and just typed MBR accidentally. Jhipson says "BMR is your resting calorie burn and what your body needs to function. Try not to go much below that number as your net calories for a day." Bump means to move a topic higher in the thread, and it also adds it to the "My Topics" section on…

Bumping for you. If you are looking at weekly totals, I think it might be something like 3500 calories for a 1-lb loss, but I'm not certain.
-
I don't know what is causing your fluctuations (water maybe?), but you could try weighing less often, like weekly. I weigh daily but I don't really take what the scale has to say at face-value without seeing more of the average, or week's end result, so that I can see the bigger picture.
-
Terrific!
-
I am too indulgent for a 5-days with that menu, but I wanted to say that your results look fantastic; kudos for hanging in there.
-
The beef stroganoff recipe would be fantastic; I love beef stroganoff!

Great job on the exercise; moving will benefit you no matter what. It could be that you need to eat more calories to support the exercise you're doing, or that you'd benefit from lab work to test thyroid, deficiencies, etc. Best of luck.
-
I'm sure you've considered this, but having lab work done might really benefit you. You could have thyroid issues, a nutrient deficiency... it wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side!
-
Nice update! That is terrific!

Lilac, 6.5 in less than a month! Look at the bigger picture; both you and original poster are losing. You should feel proud of that. If my standards were that strict my spirit would be shot.
