You can definitely do it! I started out in January 2012 at 211lb and I'm now 157lb with another 10 to go (5'7"). Just stick to it and enjoy the changes and compliments along the way :)

I heat that the One is great, but I think it only syncs with the iPhone 4S onwards because of the type of bluetooth it uses. I have the ultra which I love, and am thinking of upgrading to either the One or the Flex when I upgrade my iPhone 3GS. Edited to add the name of the Fitbit Group on here, which you might be…

Very interesting, thanks

Nice to meet you Caro xx

I've always owned kitchen scales and couldn't cope without them! I would say that I would measure ingredients exactly (in grams or ounces) when baking and making a new recipes, but for some in the past (savoury dishes) I would add 'to taste'. Since being on mfp I measure everything, always, including breakfast cereal etc.…

Happily married for 18 years this year to my best friend :)

Amazing...and totally inspiring :)

Wow, thanks for that! :)

The most useful thing I've found is that it (fitbit ultra) helps me to assess my activity level accurately for each individual day, rather than rely on the general estimates from mfp. Particularly useful at the weekends when I'm generally less active or active in a different way, i.e. playing with my children rather than…

Sounds like a great idea!

It can, but I think you also need to look at the reasons why someone let themselves go. In our case, we had a lot to deal with when our children were younger, and reacted in different ways. Whilst not clinically depressed, I was emotionally and physically exhausted a lot of the time and food became a comfort to me in many…

Sorry, I didn't read all of the pages so this may have already have been posted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame_controversy Apparently it's a hoax. Don't get me wrong, I'm not promoting aspartame or claiming it's safe, in fact I try to avoid all artificial sweeteners except for a rare diet coke every so often.

I was making playdough the other day for a toddler group and found myself wondering how many calories it had in it - I came very close to inputting the recipe here to check!

I think there might be some sort of advertising involved......

Hi Brenda - welcome to mfp! If you want your ticker to show at the bottom of forum posts, just look up to where it says home/recent post/my topics/settings/search and select settings - you can turn it on from there :) Have a great day! Rose (from Wales) x

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/836507-tight-lacing-waist-training-corseting?hl=Corset&page=4#posts-12603781 I haven't really thought about it myself, but there was another topic recently which you might find helpful!

Well....seems it's not available in the UK, so I have to rely on reading labels and common sense as usual

Not Welsh, but I've lived here over half my life and my husband is Welsh :)

As you say, stop adding salt in cooking, and try to cook your meals from scratch with fresh ingredients, you'll find sodium mainly in preprepared convenience foods and fast food.

Good question! Mine has gone down 1/2 inch from 13 to 12.5 in a year with a weight loss of 54lb, and I'm 5'7 1/2" (aged 43) - I'm happy with that, but I have no idea of what a 'normal' sized neck would be, lol
-
Well, I was intrigued so googled it - loseit doesn't appear to be available in the UK, so that makes the decision very easy for me, lol! I LOVE mfp though :)
-
Specifically English? There are some very nice other British people on here too :)

Well.....in my part of the world it's Sunday morning anyway!

Just bumps the thread because I have nothing even remotely clever or interesting to add. Edited to change a mistake I'm worried will be used against me.

Also, in their stockings, you can wrap plenty of things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, pencils, fruit, etc - my parents did this all the time, plus wrap up any clothes you've bought for them that they haven't had yet, my kids always get socks, Pjs etc. for Christmas.

My name is Rose, and I'm addicted to Earl Grey tea (decaff though!)

Bump - interesting,

We always do a personalised photo calendar with pictures of us and mostly the kids.

It also depends in which country you buy your clothes in!
