How fast are you going? I would suggest slowing down during the running if you're having trouble catching your breath. It should be a light jog :)

I do some exercise DVDs on my days off :) I have a couple of Jillian Michaels ones that I like doing (no more trouble zones, and burn fat boost metabolism I think its called). I walk most days anyways as I walk to work and back :)

I've just finished W7D3! Only two more weeks left! And only about 4 weeks till i do a charity 5k :noway:
-
I've done W7D2 today, wasn't too bad - getting used to the longer runs. Feeling a summer cold coming on though, hope it doesn't interfere with my exercise too much!

Personally i'm using the NHS C25K program, in which the podcasts have music built in with some woman telling you how long you've done and when to speed up/slow down. I've found it pretty awesome, mainly because i don't have to find music to listen to :D

You'll have to let us know if it works! I think its probably the same concept as those foam rollers that are all the range at the moment...

I'm not sure about crampy, but my left foot tends to go numb when i'm running - it's a combo of my foot being slightly too wide for my shoe and Raynard's i think. I have heard that rolling a tennis ball under your foot is supposed to be good for cramps and loosening the muscles on the bottom of the foot, might be worth a…

I've been at it a while, but just wanted to say good luck!

Just done week 7 day 1, still can't believe i'm running 25 minutes and its not feeling like i'm dying!
-
I guess it would depend what your priorities are - whether you have a set distance in mind, or whether you want to increase running time, even if you're not running as fast. Did you stop because you ran the 2 miles, or because you were tired? If you were tired, I would suggest slowing down and running the whole time…

I've just done W6D3 :) Usually run at 5mph on the treadmill, but took it down to 4.5mph today and got through the 25 minutes easily without being out of breath Such a great feeling being able to run for that long!

I will trade you that coworker for the one at my work who thinks everyone over a UK size 10 is a 'fattie', and who is also sexist and homophobic (amongst other things)!

I've never been much of a daydreamer myself..although i am known to when bored at work haha. My dreams tend to be first person but I'm always aware of what size i am and what i look like. And I'm sure both dream and physical you will coincide eventually! Keeping on that path is tricky but doable :flowerforyou:
-
Thanks :) I may of course not end up looking like that! The downside to all this is even though I've never been anywhere close to a healthy weight, I sometimes forget that i'm the size I am and get a bit of a shock when I look in the mirror! Hopefully that will be changing though :)
-
I'm glad it's not just me! When I've mentioned the dreaming thing to anyone i get that 'What the hell..?' look haha. And good look for the weight loss/toning, you've already come so far :flowerforyou:

I've just done W6D2 ..it was a struggle on the second lot of 10 minutes but i got through it somehow. Gearing myself up for that 25 minutes on Friday haha!

Hi :) I'm on week 6 at the moment, and really enjoying it! Its amazing seeing how much you can run for at this point, when i couldn't even do 30 seconds before i started! I don't really have much in the way of tips as i'm currently doing it on a treadmill before i graduate to outdoor running in about a week, but from all…

I'm 24, soon to be 25 with around 50lbs to lose, feel free to add me :)

I'm currently residing in Birmingham, but from Manchester...feel free to add me :)

I've been using chia seeds for a couple of weeks now, and i love them :) I usually use 1/4 cup seeds with 1-1 1/2 cups milk and a bit of yogurt and cocoa powder and let it sit for a couple of hours. But i've also just added some to 'overnight oats' for my breakfast/tea (on nights so its a little bit of both i guess!). I've…

I'm unfortunately also a good cook - with a particular skill and love of baking. My way of coping - i still bake, but i take it in to work so that i can treat myself with one little thing, and everyone else can have them. If i don't lose much weight at least everyone else will have put it on so i will still look good ;) I…

Congrats on finishing that 20 minutes! It didn't feel too strange to do the 5 and 8 minutes again - it does add up to 18 minutes total so its not too far off the mark from the W5D3 total, and personally, i find it really hard to walk in between and then restart running! At the moment i'm just enjoying it and trying to not…

Just finished Week 6 Day 1! I can't believe there are only 4 more weeks to go!
-
Maybe get some walking in somewhere? Even if its just a bit, and building up to adding more. Personally I have no transport of my own, and no public transport goes to work round me so I have no choice but to walk! I also love the couch to 5K program for running, if you want to get into that sort of thing :) As well as…

I work on a rota, so i will be on nights about 1 week of the month. This month i have two sets (10pm-8am) monday-friday - my first set starting tomorrow! Feel free to add me - and i would appreciate any help regarding food on nights! I generally end up grazing all the way through on biscuits or crisps, so i'm trying to…

I finished week 5 this week and I've also signed myself up for a charity 5k in august ... not sure how I'll fare, but it's something for me to aim towards!
-
I have just over 50lbs to lose..hopefully i'll get there! Feel free to add :)
-
Wow way to go :D I don't think i'd be able to do that after the W5D1 podcast but for me, i find it really hard to do the walk interval and then have to start running again! Try not to do too much at once though! Don't want any injuries...or to make the rest of us look bad :P
-
I'm currently going C25K on the treadmill. I've just finished week 5 and plan on doing a few more weeks before I take it outside - and the only reason I will be doing that is because i've signed myself up to a 5K in about 2 months!
-
Did W5D3 today, and somehow got through it and without slowing down any too! It feels like now that hurdle has gone, its going to be a lot easier to up the running in the next few weeks :)
