so i'm the original couch potato, & LOATHE exercise, but i used to force myself to do it. - until a back injury stopped me in my tracks - so right now i can't do anything high impact until i get my wobbly belly down to a size that doesn't put so much pressure on my back. BUT i've started going out for nce long walks,…

helloooo! i'm also uk based, always open to having more friends  i've just joined a couple of uk based groups, but haven't posted in there yet... it's nice to have people who understand about stones & to talk about uk shops & products! i started in jan with 4 stone to lose, dropped 12lbs as of today's weigh in…

now THAT is a really great idea! i'm gonna do a graph, thanks for sharing that!

okay, thanks for the replies & info everyone, i guess it sounds odd to be worried about a good loss, but like i say, i wanna do this right, so it's good to compare notes  i'm relieved to hear that it happens to other people & that things even out  & lol @ 'whoosh effect' i like that!

 so i'm being strange?! yes i wanna lose weight, but i wanna do it right & in a healthy way, not too fast & have it all come back on...

hey, i also have an issue with crunches as i had a back injury, so need to be careful, yet also i know that when i've stuck with core exercises in the past, it's really helped my back (i know i'm the opposite way round to you, but it's still the core area). i have recently discovered that the 'zumba' website have a dvd…

hey! thanks, but i think i should be asking you for tips! 25lbs is great going!

i'm not sure if this counts; but right now i'm trying to find employment after being out of work for some time. it takes up a lot of time! it's also quite daunting, as not only has it been a while since i've worked, but my confidance is low because of the weight gain :frown: then when i have a job i can afford to have some…

oh sure, it was a back injury, nothing secret  doing a lot better now thanks, but it still plays up from time to time. it left me more or less immobile for a few months, which is where all the trouble started - & of course out of work, so bad habits were formed. :embarassed: strangely i find that if i get into doing…

i've been out of work a couple of years now - so you would think that i have plenty of time to excercise - but oh no *shakes head* i'm just totally lethargic & after the injury i've gotten into the habit of not going outside further than the shop or putting the bins out :embarassed:
-
right now all i seem to be able to think about is FOOOOOOOOOOD! :frown:
-
let me know how you get on with the 30 day shred  i'd be too worried to use kettlebells in here; knowing me i'd constantly drop them & scare the neighbours!

   not gonna quote the whole thing, but i'm properly p*ssing myself laughing here! tears & everything!

i don't have 'catch-all' comeback, i tailor make them on the spot! although there are a couple of ready mades which amuse me; "i may be fat, but you're ugly - & i can go on a diet" "if i wanted to listen to an a**e-hole, i'd have farted"
-
ah, okay thanks, i'd tried using the 'search' function on here but it kept timing out. i used to have a small electronic gizmo, years ago, which would convert anything, weight, volume, distance, length, etc, & it was really useful - thought it would be cool to have one on here as my phone is ancient, & i have to come right…

hi all! good call on making the group & thanks for the add! i'd like to nominate a most miles walked (or jogged, or cycled) please, as i live in a small upstairs flat (apartment) so there is no way to do exercise dvd's or video games - especially as i'm such a heifer, i might go through the ceiling! good luck to…
-
thanks all for the replies & well wishes  it seems that most folk on here support the 'no diet' option, which i guess i knew deep down, but of course i was secretly hoping for a quick-fix :blushing: i'm sure a lot of others did at some point or other?! please say yes  some great info in these replies, & what…

anyone? :ohwell:

wow! good on ya girl! i'd be dead made up with that in my first week  today is my first day & it's only just dawning on me how much i have got to learn :blushing:
-
:noway: get outta my head! that is totally me :frown: @ helen, today is my first day, & i've been doing almost the exact same thing, as i live in between a petrol station & a late-night convenience store, so i've been living off the cr*p they they sell in there, & i have no willpower when it comes to the midnight munchies…
-
damn you for giving me that 'recipe' & putting ideas in my head! my biggest downfall is booze - i can drink 2 or 3 bottles of wine, or a box of 15 buds, or copious amounts of anything really - then all foods bets are off - i'll chomp my way through whatever i can get my sticky mitts on, including some very er,…
-
thank you everyone for the replies & advice  some great stuff already that i hadn't thought about! i know i have sooooo much to learn - or i wouldn't be here in the first place huh? i'm only just realising that there's so much more to it than calorie counting! i think the protein suggestion is valid, as i'm…

hiya!! i nearly put a food related username, but figured it would make me want to eat every time i saw it  see, i now want pizza & it's your fault! well done on your weight loss so far, how have you achieved it?
-
hi all!! wow, thanks for the replies & being so welcoming  feels like i've taken that first step by admitting that i'm stuck in the rut & getting on here where everyone will understand  @ golope, that is EXACTLY how i feel, even going for a walk seems like an effort, but mentally rather than physically…
