  • Wow. I never thought about it before, but that's soo true. I would like to add the over-enthusiastic complimentor. These people also tend to be women, and for some reason gush inappropriately about your weight loss. Maybe someone can weigh in on why these people ar like this, because I can't figure out the purpose of this…
  • Holy smokes! What a transformation! :drinker:
  • This is totally not helpful...I know. Seriously? 4 PB&J sandwiches? In one day?!? And I agree with a poster above...measure... You'd be shocked how many calories you are eating.
  • To put it another way.... MFP often takes 1000 calories away a day from the information you originally provide it (which is usually incorrect - human error and misinformation). The minimum amount of calories it will "tell you" to eat is 1200 and no less. To lose approx 2 lbs per week, you need a 7000 calorie deficit per…
  • Short answer: MFP is a number-crunching calculator. It knows nothing except for what you tell it, correct information or not. Long answer: Read this link - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
  • Yes, that's true. But you don't have to start the whole recipe from scratch. What I mean is that you're editing the recipe. But you CAN edit the amount of food on the iPhone app. :drinker:
  • I think it's because there is no recommended maximum or minimum amount a person should be eating. They track it for you so that you are aware.
  • Not sure if this has been said before, but someone once made this suggestion to me and it has saved a ton of time. Put your plate/bowl on your scale and zero it. Add food to plate/bowl, get measurements, add to MFP, zero the scale. Add next food to plate/bowl, get measurements, add to MFP, zero the scale. So on and so…
  • Hehehe Hahaha! As a fellow Canuck, I can confirm that there is NO WHERE you can move without a Tim's being across the street! LOL On my 10 minute drive to the mall, I pass 3 walk-in Tim Horton's and 4 drive thru Tim Horton's at various Petro Canada stations. Quite literally cannot avoid them. That's like a crack-head…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 It's a tough read, but should answer all of your questions.
  • There's a lady on here who is a great inspiration. Her posts on the forums are truly inspiring, and she has the links up on her profile page. She talks about toning and not worrying about the scale. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lorinalynn ETA the link to her profile page.
  • I personally love what you said. My only caveat is that I know people who take too many liberties with "in moderation" and "it fits in my macros" and best of all "there is a margin of error" and worked it into gaining weight. Discipline, discipline, discipline.
  • I like the suggestion Caitlyn gave re: portions. But eating healthy doesn't have to be more expensive! Just more time consuming. You can look for sales in the circulars, and buy in bulk in places that offer it if you have a freezer. If you can get some inexpensive meats, then you can make just about anything healthy. Meat,…
  • That's the one I read!! Seriously, this Lyle guy writes in a manner that makes complete sense to me. I guess my main concern is that I was going to use the info from that article as an excuse to "go off" my diet. Reasonably speaking, it can't hurt. So long as I do as suggested and stay within TDEE cals.
  • For 9 months straight. I only didn't log once that entire time for a week while camping in July.
  • Thanks for your input so far guys. But I still don't know what to do! Maybe the break would be more of a mental thing. I don't think I'll lose faster. Just that a break would be nice before the FINAL SPRINT so to speak. It just seems like there is science and psychology to support all potential avenues... Any more…
  • I hardly ever comment on success stories, tho I love to read them. But you look amazing! Congrats on all of your hard work!!
  • QUACK. Saw an ad on the side of the road near my house yesterday screaming: DR. OZ!! RASPBERRY KEYTONES!> One is born every minute.
  • If you are interested in calculating BMR and TDEE and taking a cut based on calories and/or exercise, then check out this link. It's pretty long but straight-forward if you read it properly. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Cheers to my fellow Mississauga liver!! I…
  • That is way off. Go to fat2fitradio.com. Find out your CURRENT BMR. It's likely way more than 1200 ish unless you are 4 foot something 90 lbs woman.
  • I was once told "Congratulations!" from a co-worker's husband at a Christmas party. He even patted my effing belly. To top it all off....I was literally drinking a glass of white WINE! People. Are. Dumb.
  • HAHA Love this. I made a lot of friends who were at #6 when I was at #4. Now all of my friends are graduating to #8 while I'm still somewhere between #6 and #7. Perhaps I should skip right to #8 and stop wasting my time.
  • This person knows what they are talking about. You don't have a lot of weight to lose. You are not obese. Losing 2 lbs a week is not for you. Check out this link too: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Or go to www.fat2fitradio.com Do some reading at these sites.…
  • I didn't wake up coughing for an hour last night! I must be getting better.
  • I'm not an expert, but I would think that it's possible that the sensor slipped and didn't read the whole time. Or you punched your info in wrong. Like that you were 1 foot tall or something. I would think that even at 48 bmp you would burn more than 12 cals in 40 minutes while moving. Chances are, you should burn more…
  • I'm really glad you believe everything you're told. BTW, I have a bridge to sell ya.
  • It's obvious to me that people treat people differently because of their weight.
  • IMHO - If it fits into your macros then there really shouldn't be a problem. There also isn't a problem reading your numbers in a weekly manner. It depends on what works for you. Some people subscribe to the Twinkie diet. Personally, if I stay within my calories but go excessively over in carbs and/or fat, then I won't see…
  • I had an epidural with both babies. Second birth, the first epidural didn't work. I did natural labour for HOURS, and complained the whole time. They didn't believe me, until I told them my catheter was uncomfortable, and could they take it out please. Eventually, the annoyed and obviously unskilled anesthesiologist came…
  • I eat 1900 calories a day, full stop. Exercise is included in the totals whether I do it or not. I eat. Feel free to add me. I don't high five all of my friends all the time, but my diary is open and you can be nosy on me if you want. :flowerforyou:
