Well I agree that your weight loss is great but you can make better choices on your meals (I mean who can't! :) ). As you drop weight it gets harder. I had to really tighten thigns up after 30 lbs and now I'm at almost 50 (lost 7 before starting MFP) and I can't excercise right now due to an injury so I have to eat super…

just past day 135 in a row and log food EVERYDAY. Down 41 lbs since April so feel free to take a look.

Looks like your doing great but I do have a few suggestions that helped me speed up my weightloss. Stop eating Cheese and Butter. Instead use olive oil. Won't lower the calories but gives you a much better type of fat that actually helps to burn off your body fat. also lose the cookie and replace with apple or berries.…

HI There...I would check out Amazon for gluten free cook books. There are a ton there and many are very good. Just check out the reviews. Skip the gluten free stuff in regular grocery stores but Whole Foods has some great things. Here are a few tips #1 - foods to avoid - Bread, pasta, Soy - most grains as most have gluten.…

Is there anyone in your area who does bodywork? Meaning really deep tissue work. I had a chronic shoulder problem to the point the doc wanted to do surgery and my chiropractor recommended me to a person who's really good at bodywork. The sessions were incredibly painful as he got super deep into the muscle actually…

I go to La Foot in Brekeley Ca. They actually have a foot doctor there on staff who watches your stride and gives you an exam before making a recommendation on shore and insole. They helped me a great deal.

I've been with my wife for over 25 years. How...by NEVER asking her anything this stoopid. Sorry dude...put the doll down and walk away.

Just got my 3rd Fit Bit today. Why #3? becuase I lost the other 2...but I'm addicted! Have fun with it.

great device and the integration to MFP is great. Only problem is I've now lost 2 of them. But I'll be buying a 3rd this weekend.

Um.....how about mentioning somethign that got larger? Well I'm down over 30 (gained 6 pounds after staring MFP but it doesn't register gains) before I started losing. When I broke 30 pounds down I noticed that Mr. Happy was not only more happy in the morning then usual but he was also larger then usual. I actually asked…

6:30 am this morning I did 40 minutes on an indoor Concept 2 Rower. Avg HR in the 130's. only bummer is going to work after the shower and sweating through my dress shirts. Also did 1 mile walk at lunch time. Will try and get another 3 mile walk in tonight but all depends on how bad traffic is on the way home.

Awesome progress! Slow and steady is the way to do it! Congrats!!

Hi..as a low carb eater for many years maybe I can help. All Fruits have carbs but what to look for is low glycemic (ie lower in sugar). The fruits lowest in sugars are berries. Apples and melons are next and pretty good. Then you get into sweeter fruits and the sugar content goes up. Bannans (my favorite) is also a big…

Hi..I'll see if I can help but I don't know ChaLean or Turbo Fire. I do lift weights allot but I lift heavy so it's basiclly 30 seconds of 100% effort fillowed by 2 or so minutes of rest so I can go 100% again. For Cardio I do allot of rowing and spinning (and walking) and I use a Polar Chest Strap and Watch which is also…

Oh I LOVE this comment! :) hmm..I am a guy and I lift heavy (ie. 110 lb dumbells Bench press (yes 110 in each hand), 220 lb pull downs for back, 135 lbs on skull crushers for triceps, just a few examples). If I wore my wedding ring it would both cause me to bleed all over and probably damage my finger joint. So no...I…

WOW..TONS of replies here. I'll share my personal learning. I hate breakfast and often used to push it to lunch. When I talked with a nutritionist she was on me to make sure I ate breakfast within 30 mins of waking if at all possible. Sometimes this is a protein drink but now I scramble egg whites, spinach and chicken…

Checkout Metagenics Bio Pure. They have it on Amazon. It's based on organic milk and is not processed with any chemicals, acids or heat so they claim the protein is still bioactive and can help improve your immune system. I don't kno about that but I do know that most protein powders give me gas or give me a stomach ache…

Does your gym have trainers? If they do interview a few of them and find one you like and schedule 5 to 10 sessions (not cheap but worth it and you usually get a discount if you pay up front). After 5 t0 10 sessions they should be able to give you 2 or 3 workout routines that they will write down for you and you can…

I'll just add this. The last time I offered to help someone they ended up dropping a weight on my foot. It wasn't good. I've learned to walk away and just concentrate on my workout. If someone asks for help I'm happy to do so but I don't offer as either they don't want the help, think they are doing great or end upl…

Does your HRM allow you to input your age, weight, height, etc? If it does then I would definitely go with that. The bigger you are and the heavier you are the more calories you burn during excercise but programs that estimate your calories burned can only do that if they have your vital statistics.
-
As someone who does heavy lifting 4x a week I hear you. But I decided that whether or not MFP records the calories or not it was the fact I was doing the workout that really matters. One way you could fix this is to wear a heart monitor/watch combo that lets you input your vital statistics (weight, height, age, etc.) and…

I'll add my 2 cents since I've worked with Trainers and Nutritionists for several years. They have always told me 2 seperate workouts are better then 1 long workout. #1 - you can usually work harder or push yourself harder over a shorter period of time #2 - but even if you don't the main calorie benefit from excercise…

Have you tried increasing your protein to 40% and dropping your carbs to 30%? That might help espcialy if your lifting.

Hi Selena...what really stuck me was how much sugar your getting in your diet. Calories are not all created equal. Foods high in Sugar trigger your insulin and get put immediately into your fat cells and can even trigger more cravings to eat more sugar. It took me a long time but I'm pretty much sugar free and it really…

I started taking 6 grams of fish oil a day about 2 months ago for heart health (2 1 gram pills 3x a day with each meal). Not sure if it's helped or hurt except I'm down almost 15 lbs in those 2 months so I would say it didn't hurt. I have never heard they are good for weight loss but I have definitely heard they are great…

I have a crazy thought...ask your neighbors if they mind and give them your phone # in case they do hear you so they can let you know if it wakes them up. Time to get back to neighbors talking to each other I think! :)
-
nope..not unless you want to use their advanced reporting. I'm using the integration offered by MFP and so far no charges.

HI There....3 years ago a nutritionist suggested I try gluten free. She said this becuase I was having slight inflamation in joints and various aches and pains. I gave it a shot and was suprised to see how much better I felt. Not only did my aches and pains diminish but I had better energy and slept better too. there are…

I've been gluten free for 3 years now and it's helped me allot even though my allergy is very light. You can google and get tons of recipes or buy books on Amazon. But here are some tips: #1- read the label...gluten is in ALLOT of things including Soy Sauce. Even sugar coated peanuts in Southwest have gluten since the…
