  • A comment like that can rev your whole day up! What a great way to start your day. I go to Salvation Army or consignment shops when I'm looking for clothes. Are there any "Savers" thrift stores near you? They'd be a great way to get clothes that fit but not spend a lot of money. I usually can find some things there that…
  • Kat, I just finished reading your Blog. I told my husband about it and I was crying. Really. I lost it when I saw your Before and After photos. The second photo with you beaming really got me. You look so happy! And the best part is, you are! What the doctors said to you is so inspirational. I'm happy you're one of my…
  • Thank you all for your input. It seems like my logging has been generally accurate! I've been getting up 1+ hours early every day (except Sunday, my day of rest) to do Leslie's workouts. I never thought I'd be able to drag myself out of bed earlier, but I'm doing it! In the DVD I did this morning, she commented that people…
  • Just another thought...what if I do a DVD that has 4 miles in an hour and one that has 5 miles in an hour? Would they still be the same amount of calories? I wouldn't think so. Maybe me putting it under "Walking" isn't so far fetched.
  • I think I'm in big trouble here. I've been logging it under Walking and then however many miles I did with Leslie that day. Uh-oh.
  • I had more time today and did the 5-Mile Advanced Walk at Home. It's been a long time since I've done this workout, but I got through it all. My husband thought I had just got out of the shower when he saw me after. I hadn't even been in the shower yet, but I was drenched! Feeling great right now.
  • I am happy to say I did six walks this week. Tomorrow is my day of rest. Today I set out to do what I couldn't do the other day. I did the full four miles of "Punch Up Your Walk." I really believe this is the toughest workout from Leslie yet. Holding those weights for four miles (I did two pounds in each hand) was tough.…
  • I've started doing Leslie's DVDs again since late June. I do either 3 or 4 miles and try to vary the DVDs. I'm thrilled to find some I haven't done on YouTube. So, today I decided to try "Punch Up Your Walk." Four miles? No problem. Not quite! I only got through three miles and had to go right to cooldown. That DVD kicked…
  • Very nice, Carrie! It's always nice to see those clothes hanging off. It makes all your hard work worthwhile. Great job!
  • I also get everything ready the night before. No fumbling around in the morning trying to find workout clothes which would just give me another excuse not to do it. I do Leslie Sansone DVDs and try to pick it out the night before. I get my lunch and breakfast ready to take to work, too. The last couple of mornings I wanted…
  • Hi. My name is Jo-Ellen and I am an MFP addict.
  • I recently started working out in the morning. Coming home at night and then trying to make the time with my family and working out was difficult. I pop in a Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds video in the morning and do it. It does require getting up an hour earlier but it's getting easier after 3+ weeks. If you want to…
  • When I was young, I thought I was fat -- at 130 pounds. Because I am tall, I thought I weighed too much compared to those smaller girls who might weigh, say, 105 pounds. When I got up to 134 pounds, my coworker and I went on a diet and I lost those four pounds and lost another five while in France for a month. That was it.…
  • I'm on that train, too. It will be three weeks tomorrow that I logged back on here and I'm so glad I did! It's great to have a board dedicated to ladies "our" age. I am post menopausal and I don't know how that will affect weight loss this time around. I seem to be losing, but I don't have a scale -- that's why I'm here. I…

  • I cut up a peeled apple, sprinkle cinnamon on it and cook in the microwave for 3 1/2 minutes. I add it to the oatmeal as it's cooking near the end. My son loves it, too.
  • I'm another Leslie S fan and started doing her workouts again 2+ weeks ago. Like you, I wonder why I stop doing them because I always feel so GOOD after! Which ones are you doing? I found a couple on YouTube that I didn't have and have been doing those. I think this will help us get some weight off! Montrose (age 54)
  • Did you ever think you'd get congratulated for being OW? I can understand, though. You have done an incredible job! A picture (or two) really does speak 1,000 words. In your case, 10,000 words!
  • Can you post the recipe? Also any healthy ideas to serve them would be appreciated.
  • I am 54 and post menopausal. I think that's the first time I ever wrote that. Yikes. Any of you lovely ladies are free to add me.
  • My goal for the month is 40 miles. Here's what I've done so far: July 1 3 miles July 2 3 miles July 3 3 miles July 4 0 July 5 3 miles July 6 4 miles July 7 3 miles July 8 2 miles (boosted walking with intervals!)
  • Did Walk Slim: 4 Fast Miles today. I've been doing 3 miles but decided after almost two weeks to start alternating between 3 and 4. I was very happy to find this video on YouTube!
  • Any of you on this thread are welcome to add me. I am 54 YO and back after a long hiatus!
  • I'm so glad to find this group because I love Leslie! I am going to do 40 miles this month. I'll be on vacation some of this month so it might be tough, but I'm sure going to try! Good luck to everyone.
  • This looks really good and I'm going to give it a try! We all love lo mein in our house. Congrats on the great weight loss!!
  • That's GREAT! Leslie sure knows how to give a good workout!

  • Hi, It sounds like a back-handed compliment. Maybe he was waiting for you to mention that he's lost, too? Just be glad he's noticing! Some husbands never do (though mine does) and give any kind of compliments or encouragement. Keep up the good work and imagine how well you'll BOTH fit together once you're fit together. :)…
  • Hi C, Welcome! I've only been here a short time myself. I could have written your letter. I tend not to stick with things. Let's make a deal to stick with it together. Good job on the four pounds! Chip away at the weight loss. I'm trying to focus on five pounds at a time instead of the BIG picture. Hang in there. Montrose

  • Hi, I can sympathize. The stress on my job has taken a toll on me. They are not hiring anyone else any time soon and a lot of times I can't get out of here on time. I'm taking my life back, though. I'm working out when I can and really trying to focus on my food. Keeping track of it really is eye-opening. When I eat peanut…
  • You got me a bit nervous there. I was thinking, "Is it really possible to gain 15 pounds overnight??" I hope you let her make her own lunch after that! LOL.
  • Great job! Keep up the good work!!
