Talk to your doctor about your carbs and weight loss goals . It could depend on the type of diabetes, what medication your taking, how much you exercise, etc. My wife has diabetes and has kept in control by always counting her carbs. It's not easy for her, but she's persistent. Good luck.

My brother-in-law justifies his daily beer(s) by not having butter and exercising a lot. And yes, he's lost weight.
