  • Where do you get the noodle bowls? Personally I can get a decent salad in the work cafeteria for cheaper than the deli's so I am okay with that, but if you have any recommendations of decent deli's since a lot are extremely overpriced and not very good, especially in midtown, please post them.... I feel like farther uptown…
  • They may have it posted in the restaurant- the menu posted online seems to be generic when only one place serves breakfast... that one place may have the calories posted in the menu... I think they legally have to in NYC
  • ohh good to know! Thanks!
  • That's good to know about num pang- terrible for my diet but good to know lol. The banh mi sandwiches at hing won by Rockefeller center are pretty good too... probably not worth the schlep for you, though. If you are over by 3rd, there's a place on 39th and 3rd- Famous Chicken Place- total hole in the wall but has…
  • Congrats on losing the weight! I can eat 2,100 on days i don't work out ("perks" of being overweight?) so for now have some more flexibility. I head down to 38th and 5th and Olympic Pita which has amazing Falafel and I can have half of it over two days, each being about 500 calories. Just get it on Laffa bread and ask them…
  • You must be like on the same street as me because the Chipotle and Pret is right here.. but the Cosi closed. Problem is I am a bigger guy, a lot of the portions at Pret and Cosi is not nearly enough to fill me up causing me to nosh all afternoon, kind of cancelling the healthy lunch out. I try to stick to food at the cafe…
  • I was on OkCupid for many years before meeting someone (now engaged). A lot of it comes down to your profile... if you are very generic in your profile, how are guys going to know they are your type, or in your case, they are NOT your type, and it's not worth trying to email you? Another big thing are the photos... here…
  • Juniors Devils Food Cheesecake... it's a really good NY Cheesecake from the place that put it on the map stuffed into a full slice of Devils Food Cake. It's amazing.
  • where does this fit? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVnMWSuBaDM
  • Another guilty pleasure- movie theater popcorn
  • If you get the crystal light slurpee, they actually arent that bad for you... they aren't exactly nutritious, but could be WAY worse... about 120 calories for a small, no sugar.
  • try popchips... they are really really good. I don't need potato chips anymore. a bit expensive, but you can get at BJ's and Amazon.com for cheaper
  • I work right near the place that basically put New York Cheesecake on the map.. at a stand in Grand Central, they make individual portions to take on the train... sooo good. Worse is there's a restaurant with deep fried banana cheesecake. So disgusting but so incredible. That and cruise ships :-). If you've been on one,…
  • Mainstream mens pants go up to size 42. After that, you need to go to specialty stores or get really lucky. When size 42 jeans started to feel a bit tight, I knew I had to turn things around. That was only 2 weeks ago, and they are a bit loose now.
  • I hate exercise too.. To a point where heavy exercising, which is supposed to give you endorphins and make you happy, actually puts me in an awful, angry mood for the rest of the day. What I found helps is walking outside, into town and exploring.. going into shops, etc. If the weather is lousy out, I go to the mall (take…
  • I have had bad knee pain too from having flat feet where it hurts to do anything high impact... even tai chi/yoga can hurt. Trust me, don't push it where it gets worse and you end up in a wheelchair or crutches. It's not worth it. Your best bet is low impact stuff like a bike/elliptical, or also a swimming pool...exercise…
  • FYi, there are scales that measure body fat %. It may be worth while investing in one because at least then you track that number and see it decreasing... if it would help motivate you, would be worth it.
  • I'm Steve and am a Software Engineer at a major media company. Between working in NYC and in a building where you are not allowed to take the stairs, sitting at a desk all day, and working very late hours (sometimes getting home at 1am), I ended up gaining a lot of weight and am trying to get back into shape, at least back…
  • Steve :-)
  • personally, I have a fitbit and it is the greatest thing ever, because even without the support, there is something pushing me and goals to reach and visible charts to see where I am compared to my goal... and it's nice to hit them all :-). And this site helps too with it's forums and food tracking :-)

  • Ha, I had the exact same story... not this username though... I was 8 at the time that my parents signed up for AOL, and no other usernames would work, I ended up with topkidnum1 since I was the number 1 kid lol... problem is the name stuck so now at 27 I still have random sites where I am topkidnum1... I'll be 80 and…
  • Amen to that. I'm a Senior Software Engineer and it's tough. What I've been doing is just getting up and walking a lap or two around the floor whenever something stressful comes up.... that or going outside for a walk. It's definitely helped from both a physical and mental standpoint.
  • SW: 255 CW: 252 (just started...) GW: 190's.. but 225 would be a good start :-) Height: 5'10" Age: 27 Male

  • You can try seltzer. it's just water, but the bubbles makes all the difference in the world- it has the same texture as soda then. The flavored ones are pretty good too. What also is really good is sparkling water- I find the generic ones from Walmart are really good. It is less bubbly than seltzer and contains more…
