not enough calories + working out excessively = disaster. Your body is in starvation mode and storing all that you eat. You need to eat a lot more calories if you are going to work out so much. Even if you cut back some on the workouts you still will have to eat more.

Wow a wait until october seems like a very long time but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Is the plan with the naturopath to eventually add back that that was taken out slowly or do you think you will be like this for a while? In terms of what to eat can you eat fish? Tuna fish with chickpeas and vinegar and some…

My thinking is pretty much what others say, too much sodium and non natural sugars. Some suggestions, some you seem to do already and others are ideas to add: *buy plain yogurt, preferably greek and add fresh fruit as opposed to the fruit on the bottom type. Apples and berries are the best. You can even use frozen (not in…

Since you say you are up at 5 am a hint for oatmeal is to make a big pot of it at night and when cool enough put in the fridge. When you wake up all you have to do is scoop out a portion and microwave it to eat. A lot of good toppings were mentioned. I use agave to sweeten it up a bit and always pour milk over it like…

Off the top of my head try to eat: Buy some whey protein and make smoothies with yogurt, fruit, and the whey protein If you can eat oatmeal eat it with whey and pureed fruit Cook and puree some veggies. You can even steam some chicken and puree it like baby food consistency mashed avocado and bananas ( not together though…

Just like sugar, there are good and bad fats. If your fat is coming from things like nuts, healthy oil, and even oatmeal do not worry but if you are eating unhealthy fats from fried food, high fat meats or skin from poultry then you need to make sure that they are consumed very minimally.

The treadmill is good but you are not working out your upper body. If you want a cardio that will work more muscles use an elliptical with the arm movements. When on the treadmill do interval training, walk for 2 minutes run for one the walk for 2 minutes again. I agree though to try to add some weights either machines, on…

I usually eat oatmeal every morning though I do vary the fruit. I make a big pot at a time then microwave a portion. Now who knows if this will continue when it is hot out, my gut instinct is I will switch to something else then.

I was diagnosed with Hypothroidism a little less than a month ago . Was put on 100mcg of Synthroid which was too high for me ( all I did was sleep or jittery ) Cut down to 50mcg for about a week and just went back to 100. I did find a hypo/hyper group here that you all may want to check out as well…

I was diagnosed less than a month ago. I was put on 100 Synthroid which was too high of a starting dose. All I did was either sleep or be jittery. My doctor told me to cut back to 50 which I did for a week and just went back to 100 a few days ago. I go back in about a month to get my levels retested but my doctor says do…

The thing that concerns me about the bars is the fructose and the sugar in them and also that they are the 3rd and 4th ingredient. I suppose as an occasional meal it may be ok but I would see if you can find something else. Their protein bars look much better for you all around so you may want to try those.

Research has shown that green tea in moderate doses is fine for hypothyroidism though it is not recommended to drink it when taking thyroid meds but it fine an hour after the medication is taken. Green tea is not recommended though for HYPERthyroidism.

Unless you are eating a piece of fruit or vegetable you need to look at labels. If you eat yogurt you want to eat the plain kind and add fresh fruit, stay away from fruit on the bottom types. Avoid corn syrup and things that have the word sugar even if it says natural cane sugar.

I cook big batches of oatmeal at a time and then microwave it in the mornings. Lately I have been eating it with apples, cinnamon, a sprinkle of pecans agave for sweetness and some milk. I plan on add whey protein to it when I get some this week. I do eat pumpkin puree in it sometimes ( not with all of the above though )…
