If you actually feel like getting up off the lazyboy and moving your body a little, then you don't have to worry about it as much ... and just enjoy life. This is what I did. Just some walks, rides, some sit-ups and push-ups. I did not hurt at all, but knew I had to ease my body back in to fitness... from being a 24/7 pixel jockey behind a monitor. Still getting there, but tried to push myself the other day and ended up hurting a heel out of ignorance - so waiting for that…

In my limited research, there seems to be two schools of thought here. 1) a calorie is a calorie. Once inside your body, your body will do/convert to whatever it needs, and 2) a calorie is not a calorie. Two people, eating the same number of calories a day for a year... one all fats, carbs, etc., the other more "healthy"…

Too much work for the most part. It's easy to eat pizza and chips, salads and veggies, and drink coke, whiskey, and beer while sitting behind a computer monitor--- doing my day job... then coming home and doing the same thing for my "future" job... plus typing school papers, etc. Who has time to exercise? It's a numbers game. Simple really. 1 lb = 3500 kcal. If you have -7000 kcal deficit for the week, you lose 2 lbs that week. Work on weekly data, not daily- but keep an eye on it. The body is smart, it'll let you know when hungry.

Ok, I am curious. If you can *only* eat 1300, which is probably just above your BMR (bed all day) - why do you have 30+ lbs to lose to achieve your goal? Not trying to hate, just understand where you are coming from. OP, good thread. I find this #numbersgame very interesting.

The Special K Sour Cream and Onion chip/cracker things are pretty good too. 15 of them is a half-serving and plenty to go with sandwich @ 50 cals.

This... is a good answer and true. I've been through a bit- and I never let my shield down or armor fail when I am out in the "wild". But once I get comfortable with someone, yah that shield lowers some and I take that outer layer of knight armor off... and... crumple to the couch.
