I don't think grapefruit provides any miracle weight loss solution, but I like it because it is a tasty snack that keeps me full for a while (so I don't keep snacking). Sometimes I'll have half in the morning and half in the afternoon for my snacks.

Rooibos (redbush) with a slice of lemon - caffeine free so I drink it all day.

You can msp your route from your computer (either before or after your run) using mapmyrun.com.

feel free to add me. im set to 1500 but eat back my exercise calories, which are anywhere between 400 to 700, so I normally eat about 1900-2100 a day.

You can definitely make a pancake with 1/2 banana (mash really well) and 2 egg whites (and some cinnamon if you have it) - I do this and it is really good, just make sure to cook it in a non-stick pan and on a low heat so it can flip. I have thought about adding some oatmeal (don't cool first, just add in, but let the…

I cycle everywhere instead of paying for public transport (saves £130 a month) I don't buy my lunches out anymore (saves about £100 a month) I drink MUCH less alcohol (saves about £100 a month) I keep restaurants to a minimum, about once a week (saves about £100 a month) My grocery bill has gone up by maybe an extra £50 a…

try tandoori dishes - they are grilled on charcoal. Avoid anything with cream, and naan. If it must be curry, go for something tomato based. For a start, go for soup. For main, try a tandoori, chicken or something.

Just tried these, although a modified verison of the recipe - I sort of halved it because I wasn't sure how it would come out as I don't have measuring cups. I used 80 grams of oats, 1.5 banana, chopped dates, chopped walnuts, some appleauce, about a tablespoon of oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Worked great, the only…

When I run my heart rate goes up to the 180s and stays there the entire run, so that I might have done a 50 minute run and have an average in the low 180s. If I add in any sprinting, steep hills, or stairs into my run I am up to 190-193. As long as you feel physically well at that heart rate (ie not feeling dizzy or…

If you like teas, have you tried rooibos/redbush? It is an african red tea - caffeine free and very nice. I like it with lemon, or you can have it with milk.

Don't know the numbers, but I set mine to 40%carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fat.

Personally, I would go for peanut butter on toast, I like that at night.

A week or so ago I was waiting for my train, which was about 10 minutes away. So not wanting to sit or stand still, but instead get some walking in, I walked up and down the empty platform several times, until the station manager turned up to ask if I was ok, because the guys watching the monitors got very worried when…

The most important thing is that you do what is right for you and your daughter. You seem to have made up your mind, so you should go with your gut, even if it is hard - it will be worth it later and you will come out stronger for it. And good on you for getting your health and career in shape - sometimes men are…

personally, I don't track that sort of thing. But then again, I am often about 50-150 cals below my goal, so I think it works out.

I wear under armour leggings too - they are thick-ish spandex so you can't see through them, unlike tights or some leggings - they are my favourite thing to work out in. I was running behind a girl yesterday morning wearing black tights who clearly didn't realise that from behind you could see her hot pink underwear VERY…

Great job and keep it up!!! Running is a great way to burn loads of calories. Enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing - I will try them, WITH the dates (poor things).

EGGS. Also, how about powdered hemp or similar? Check these out - http://www.linwoodshealthfoods.com/ You can then add them into things you are eating to increase protein.

I have not yet been able to find low fat ricotta ANYWHERE in the UK. I made a lasagne recently and substituted low fat cottage cheese mixed with some low fat soft cheese (melted, and then mixed in). it sounds weird, but it worked. If you want to make it smoother you could probably blend it but I didn't find that necessary…

Just to report back, I made this as a snack before dinner and it was GREAT. As per the instructions, I used 2 egg whites and 1/2 banana (mashed really well). I added a touch of vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. For those having a hard time getting it quite right, here is how I made mine: -use a non-stick pan -spray with oil…
