I would definitely bring it somewhere to offer to friends/colleagues - everyone likes getting biscuits and then you get rid of it. Last night I also had a little binge due to a cold - something about having a cold makes me want to eat rubbish, so I know the feeling. Make you eat throughout the day, even if you are busy and…

I walk up and down a few sets of stairs every hour or so, and try to go for a walk on my lunch break.

Definitely go for the long walk and then see how you feel. LOOOONG walk. good luck x

I am doing a 10K on 31 March too! Want to encourage each other? I have done one 10k race before and my time was 1 hour and 19 minutes - i was happy to finish, and not last, but I did stop to walk SEVERAL times. So I am hoping this time to do better and do more like between 1 hour and 1 hour and 10 mins (but closer to the 1…

Thanks for the recipe - it is similar to what I have most days, but the easy, instant version. I microwave instant oatmeal with soymilk, then add homemade granola (oats and nuts and cinnamon) and pommegranate. YUM

Bump - anyone else have have any tips or ideas about making home made yoghurt or what you like to do with it? I am struggling to find powdered milk in the UK to thicken it up, but have ordered some cheese cloths. Anyway, tried my yoghurt made last night chilled when I got home from work today and it was fantastic!! Very…

Good luck!! I would love to do a half marathon this year but I am still at the 10k stage, and then travelling all through the summer so unlikely to have much training time. Have fun!

There is NO WAY I could do 1200 calories a day. My profile is set at 1430 to lose 1lb a week, but I can't even keep to that comfortably. So I exercise I lot in order to eat back some exercise calories - I normally eat 1600-2000 a day, but with my exercise I am still in a defecit and losing regularly.

Feel free to add me, I am on most days and like sharing encouragement. I am 5'8, starting weight was 189, current weight is 164, goal weight is 150ish (depending on how I feel and look when I get there). So I've lost 25lbs and have another 15 or so to go! I am pretty enthusiastic about staying motivated to exercise and…

Polar FT4 is £55 on Amazon and has good review there and on this site. I have a Polar FT7 which was £62 on Amazon and I love it. I initially got the FT2 which was £35, but it just provides heart rate and doesn't count calories. If you need cheaper than the FT4 or FT7 on amazon, check ebay or gumtree for a cheaper or used…

I used to be similar and for years and years could not eat until I had been up for at least 2 or so hours, before that, food made me feel nauseous. I gradually overcame it by first having protein shakes in the morning - although I couldn't eat, I didn't mind drinking something, so that worked well. Eventually, it started…

Sazzet, that sounds fantastic - thanks for the idea, will definitely try it!

That's great - I was thinking of using UHT as apparently you don't need to heat it up so high (85C) first if it is UHT. I am glad it thickens up in the fridge as it was a bit runny this morning - really looking forward to trying it properly this evening!

Go for it - circuit classes are great fun, there is so much variety that it goes by quick. Even if there are some exercises you find difficult, it will be ok. Just try your best. It is good to get out of your comfort zone and do exercises that you haven't tried before or have found too difficult. When I first started doing…

I make my own granola, which tastes great and is filling! 150 g oats 100 grams each of different nuts - I use, chopped almonds and walnuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds Some flaxseeds - ground or whole - if you want cinamon and nutmeg to taste a little bit of sweetener (2tbs) - I use pommagranate mollassas, but you…

My personal trainer/bootcamp instructor sent the link to his clients so we could track what we are eating and then he could check up on us and give us feedback - very helpful (and of course I am gone over the top with it, but at least it is a healthy obsession!!)

Set out to run 40 minutes and felt strong (as yesterday was rest day) and ran 9k in 55 mins! woohoo! Great job everyone!

I'm 5'8" and its great to see how I might look when I get to my goal (currently 150), but also to see the importance of building muscle. Thanks so much for sharing!!

great job, that is amazing and so interesting! How tall are you?

Personally, I keep mine at sedantary as I work a desk job. I log all my workouts, which are frequent, as I cycle to and from work each day (total of an hour a day), and do bootcamp 3x a week, and sometimes do body pump or yoga 1x a week, and run 1 or 2x a week. it's a lot of exercise and I could probably bump up my…

I am in London and am running a 10K at the end of March - would love to do a HM, but not quite there yet!

I love food - been a big change to shift from restaurants to cooking at home (but still with restaurants being an occasional treat - once a week at most). My first loaf of bread failed miserably, but it got better after that. Last night I was lazy as I had one of those 'just add water' bread mixes from ages ago that I used…

Sweet and Sour Eggplant, Tomatoes and Chickpeas This Lebanese dish is all about summer. Pomegranate molasses makes it both sweet and sour; you can find it in Middle Eastern markets. Serve the dish as a starter, a side or a main dish with grains. 1 large eggplant (1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds), halved lengthwise then cut in…

sounds great - thanks for sharing!!

I quit caffeine for January and when the month ended I didn't go back because I felt so good - loads more energy than I had before. Now, I drink a pint of water when I first wake up instead of coffee, and when I am feeling lethargic, I drink water or rooibos (redbush) tea, which is a nice caffeine free red tea that I have…

I have recently started substracting. Some people choose not to eat all their excercise calories back, and I don't always eat them all back, but to keep me on the right side of things I substract some before I log them.
