I'm gong to try this. I've just started incorporating quinoa in my diet and just love Mexican food. Thanks for posting.

Looks good, although I've never heard of tempeh before. I'll have to look for it and give it a try. :)

I love black beans and brown rice. Great idea to mix a cup of each and save the rest for later. :)
-
yum. this looks really good.

Thanks so much for posting the original recipe. I had a devil of a time finding it. It does look like a winner.

This has been my staple. Love http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal

Definitely these are full are sodium. Plain spices, vinegar, fresh lemon, herbs, etc... fresh anything for that matter. Of course these are adding the flavor of each individual ingredient and not necessary "salt flavor". I just add various spices to add flavor to whatever I'm making.

I like it with scrambled egg beaters for breakfast and then as a poor man's ricotta in dishes that call for ricotta. LOL
-
I've seen them in the "dip" section. Like with French Onion Dip. You'll see dips made with Yogurt.

I'll put my two cents in.... I don't see much "processed" food here compared to some of the other recipes listed on this "recipe board". We are on a recipe board aren't we? Or is it a "clean eating" board. I'm not even sure what "clean" means as I've never heard of it before now. I'm not a food activist but do believe the…

My favorite is Eggplant Roll-ups. makes 6-7 roll-ups. Ingredients ¾ C 1% cottage cheese (or ricotta) 1 med eggplant ½ C egg beaters (or 2 eggs) Salt and freshly ground black pepper All-purpose flour, for dredging 1 packages (about 12 ounces per package) frozen spinach, thawed and strained 1 garlic cloves, finely chopped…

Really? I'll have to try that. Do you use it routinely as a butter substitute in baked goods? i.e. brownies, cookies, etc.? or just cakes?

ah ha ha ha.... that's funny! But seriously, my mom introduced it to me when I was little. She would chunk it, and add salt, olive oil and lemon juice. That's my favorite way, but love it as guacamole or in a black bean and corn salsa. I just love it.

I agree 100%. The salt you add from the table after cooking from scratch is nothing compared to the sodium in processed foods.

Really cool. Just checked it out and am impressed with the recipe suggestions. Definitely will give this some more perusing.

In the oven, but only the top burner element is lit. If you have a gas stove, there is usually a drawer under the oven. Broiling is cooking with the heat cooking from the top only. Not sure if that makes sense...

What is precooked fake chicken? I've never heard of that before... ???...

I like the chip idea. Thanks.

I've been enjoying refrigerator oatmeal from TheYummyLife. Cherry Chocolate Chunk (274 Cal) and Mocha (207 Cal) Recipes can be found here. http://www.theyummylife.com/8_muesli_flavors

Believe it or not, I have not tried ground turkey anything. I've bought turkey dogs, turkey sausage but not ground turkey to "make" something. I will have to give it a try because you all have peaked my taste buds. Thanks!

Also, when you add the item, you may need to figure all that out based on the label and add various measurements yourself.

Me too. I just emailed it to myself at work to share with a co-worker. Yumm!

I love mushrooms too!!! Sounds really yummy. Thanks! ;)

TheYummyLife.com has a great article on these. She said "Steel cut oats aren't recommended for this refrigerator method, because they don't soften enough during the overnight soak." Here's the link to the article. http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal And by the way, I just started making these and absolutely…

I would say it's cream of mushroom soup, Healthy Request brand, used as is and not adding the required water to it. Just use the can of soup the way it is out of the can.

Thank you so much for leading me to TheYummyLife blog. What a great resource for healthy alternative recipes of the classics. One recipe looked better than the next.

I LOVE this soup. For variety after reheating a bowl full, I add pumpkin seeds and 2T of fat free sour cream. YUM!!!
-
You can if you want, but I just added the eggs and mixed it all up together. Just make sure the sausage stuff is not real hot so it doesn't "cook" the eggs.
