I wouldn't use parsnips at all much too strong,very important to use the carrots that's what makes the lovely colour and sweetness ! Added ginger this week too lovely :smile:

yes you could half the spices or add some creme fraiche or natural yogurt I suppose !

I'm an evening snacker too always keep my breakfast to 150-200 calories cereal mostly gives me more calories for treats.Can ignore being hungry in the mornings when I'm busy. Sorry forgot ! Cook the sauce for 15mins before thickening . If you don't like a lot of sauce you can use only 1/2 pint of stock and omit the cornflour.

I agree with a lot of other people, one slice with a nice salad as a main meal is fine( If you can trust yourself to just stop at one!) A lifestyle change doesn't mean you have to give up totally on things you love.It's just training yourself to portion control unhealthy treats. This way you are more likely to keep to it…
