We make home-made pizza too, sometimes with french bread, sometimes crust from scratch, and sometimes on tortillas. We cut back on cheese, fill up with veggies, or just plan to work out and eat less during to day so we can enjoy!

@Kelly, Becca, Amy: My husband is a recovered alcoholic (is that the way to say it?), when we met 8 years ago he drank...A LOT. Then, about a year or so after we met, he and his twin brother had a really, really bad night and it gave them a wake-up call as to how their drinking was putting them on a downward spiral, and…

Howdy! My name is September, I am 28 and have been overweight/clinically obese for as long as I can remember. I was always quite active in my early years, but got lazy after high school. I was always the “smart kid,†and tended to have a fairly large selection of friends from the “nerds†and other “misfits†of…

When I want to look amazing, I actually really like button down shirts with princess seams =-). The shape of the shirt really covers my "tummy tube" and flatters my now 38D-DD's. Often I wear a cute lace-trimmed tank underneath. Another trick is that I wear Flex-eze tanks underneath my clothes for occasions. While they do…

Well, just this past weekend I went shopping for new jeans. Prior to this weekend, I've had luck with GAP 1969 Boyfriend Flares, but that isn't helpful because they don't make them anymore =-(. Anyway, I tried on two brands that really seem to fit my shape in my new size (I am down to a 14). I tried on a pair of "Lucky"…

5 pounds in less than a month isn't bad at all! What do you have your goals set at? I started at 230 on mfp back in January, and for the first like 3 weeks the scale didn't budge, however, since then I have a week here and there where I don't lose, but the rest of the time I have been losing 2-3 lbs per week on average. I…

Work out, do strength training, make every calorie count (don't eat junk, eat whole, healthy, nutritious foods), and above all, tell your sister to shut her trap and leave you alone. Negativity can be worse than a "cheat" day, and you need to do this for yourself, not anyone else. Don't get discouraged!

Veggies, fat-free cheese, popcorn (air popped), marshmallows =-)

We actually have two days of Easter this year, one with my husband's family on Saturday, and mine on Sunday. Saturday will be ham, roasted potatoes, and green salad (we were clear that dessert wasn't necessary, but we'll see). Sunday will be ham, beef roast, hopefully baked beans, possibly green salad, lots of pickled eggs…

I don't have any pics yet...I've lost 23 lbs sinc joining mfp generally all over, but I am still the same shape I was 43lbs ago! I am interested in seeing more success pics too--mes1119--you look awesome! Anyone can add me if they'd like--us apples should stick together! =-)

I read that it take 3500 calories to gain one pound....that is why weight loss is so slow =-). That being said, 600 over is no biggie, and don't look at it as undoing all of your hard work, look at it as a well-deserved break =-)

That is the kind of road bike I was thinking too....I have a Yamaha FZ-6 ;)

Welcome! I have never been small either, and this is the first time in my life I have been able to lose weight and keep it off....well, lose weight at all, but it is staying off too =-). Feel free to add me if you need more friends =-)

Ok, it isn't a cupcake story specifically, but, I've had a nasty stubborn cold for the past couple of weeks, during which, I decided not to log, and to eat whatever comfort foods I wanted/needed to in order to feel better. All in all I haven't done that badly, and I did lose 5 lbs through it all (yay!). But, that is…

Not sure what your stats are, or your weight loss goals, but maybe shooting for 1 or 1.5 lbs per week instead of 2, that might be a better place to start (you should get more calories) then make sure to work out too =-) (that also gives you more calories). It might help to get more advice about food if you open your diary.…
-
Howdy Judith! I went back a couple of weeks in your food diary, and I do have some suggestions, which you can take or leave as you wish =-). First of all, you should be logging more consistently. I don't have internet access at home, so I don't get to log on the weekends, but I either write everything down and estimate the…

I recently went on vacation, got sick while I was there, then came home and am still getting over this darn cold! Anyway, while on vacation I won't say I went totally nuts, but I definitely ate what I wanted, ate more frequently than I do at home, didn't really get to work out because of being sick, and have still (until…

Ok, maybe I am crazy, but I don't really see any consistency in the number of calories you are eating every day. It looks like mfp set you up with 1200 calories per day, and on the days you exercise you get more calories to eat. I am not saying not to eat those calories back, by all means, I don't like to operate on 1200…

I try to take it easy when I am sick. Especially with counting calories and working out, I just like to give my body the time and energy it needs to improve. I think it is more of a personal choice, but taking it easy has never stirred me wrong.

Hey! Just looked through your food diary a little bit. My gut reaction is that you 1) need to look at your sodium, since you eat a lot of bought out and pre-packaged foods, 2) up your fresh fruits and veggies a-lot, and 3) Stop skipping meals! You need to eat to lose weight quickly, and eating 600-700 calories in a day…

Corned Beef, fingerling potatoes, carrots and cabbage! We are doing the St. Patty's day food early this year =-).

Thank you for the responses!! I will keep all suggestions in mind =-) And yes, we are going on the Norwegian Sky. I've never been on a cruise, and my husband has never gone with Norwegian (he's been on others)--so I just didn't know what to expect. Thanks again!

Couch to 5K may be good, a friend of mine did something similar and began by losing 20 lbs, then started training. She completed a half-marathon last fall. Anyway, before you really start your running journey, please visit a running store where someone can help you get fitted for proper shoes! Especially for those of us…

Howdy! I did my first sprint triathlon three years ago, so it is not as scary as it seems. I've been doing them ever since. I am also currently tri-training, and working on weight-loss in the process. You can add me if you'd like, I'd be happy to help however I can =-).
-
Hi Dawn! You can add me if you'd like, I'd be happy to encourage =-)

I started at 60 also, and am down 18 so far. Anyone who would like to can add me =-).

I also went back about a week and have some suggestions as well. I totally agree about not skipping meals, and NEEDING veggies, and fresh fruit aside from bananas. You also seem to be doing *a lot* of protein shakes and quick meal bars, which are great for snacks or a meal replacement on the go, but you really need to be…

bump =-) Thanks!

Howdy! Jillian Michael's 30 day shred has really helped both me and my husband to tone-up more in the mid-section than cardio alone. You might want to check it out =-).

Hi Kari! I have 42 more pounds to lose for my first goal...you can add me if you'd like =-).
