I LOVE TO SPIN!! Like a PP said the first time I went I was dying after about 3 minutes, I could not believe it was possible to get through the whole 45 minute class, but I stuck to it and got completely hooked!! Most instructors will give you alternatives if you are a beginner, pretty much any move can be done sitting or…

LMAO!! I literally FELL into my car this morning... no word of a lie... perfect timing for this thread! oh and my addition to this is you know it was a good leg workout when you try and figure out how to go down the stairs without bending your legs at the knee!! It's pretty awkward going downstairs with a straight leg!

Well I've been on the fence for about a month now about how to approach strengh training and after seeing yet another glowing review for NROLFW I just got back from the mall on lunch and have my new copy of the book ready to be read!! Thanks for finally getting me off my butt and into gear. I am completely burning out of…

I totally agree with getting the HRM, I LOVE my HRM, it really helps me stay focused at a work out, and I love having a relatively accurate idea of what I am burning , for me it makes my workout seem more 'real' if that makes any sense!? lol nicole

Hmmm... Just got mine about a month ago, and I was concerned that would be an issue before I got it, but that hasn't happened at all to me yet, and some of the aerobics classes I take are very high impact... I also put my strap on and then wear my sports bra over top and it seems to keep it really secure like that. Nicole

I definitely see a difference, less love handle in the top picture! Keep at it...looking great! nicole

Shamelessly bumping this with a question... I've spent the last little while on stronglifts.com.. He constantly refers to all the 'guys' that have had these amazing results, but I don't think I have read anywhere in that 211 page report anything about this being suitable for women to follow as well? So are there any ladies…

it really varies for me too! some days i can burn over 300! today i did my 1st day of level 3 and my hrm said i burned 264!! i felt like it should have been way more than that! for me thought consistantly it is between 250-350 .. 128 sounds really low to me.

Ah! Great.. I haven't heard of bodybuilding.com and didn't even think to check youtube. I'll give that a shot. thanks

I keep seeing this mentioned and have been meaning to pick it up, but thought it would require more than just me and a book and some weights, I keep reading about proper form etc... and I don't have a clue about any of that!

Give me plank jacks over jumping jacks ANY day!! I find them way easier... not sure why...but it's the truth!! Today is Day 17 for me!! 7th day at level 2... I have missed one day out of the 17 it was day 15 and I just couldnt bring myself to do it... I am working out at the gym every day and doing the shred in the…

LOL! I hate jumping jacks too! That must be why I like level 2 better! I can't even think what would be causing people's shins to hurt?

I'm exactly half way through... yesterday was day 15...so day 5 of level 2. I have been able so far to go every day, but yesterday came and I just couldnt do it ( I am doing the shred in the evenings on top of my regular gym work outs during the day ) I think I just burned myself out... but I am back at it today and will…

i just did day 1 of level 2! really feel like i am seeing a difference in my waist/tummy and shoulders. i took before pics and am considering taking some more on day 15 the half way point. I am doing it every day and doing a workout class at the gym every day on top of it all. i have to see results when this is over or I…

my favorite low cal way to make salmon is salt and pepper, then i cover it with thin slices of lemon and bake it in the oven. super easy and super yummy! i know it sounds too simple to be true but it is... although i highly recommend using fresh salmon if possible.

i am on day 9 , i am 5 9 and weigh about 195? according to my HRM I burn btwn 170-230 depending on how hard I workout. HRM's are awesome!
-
WOW! Way to go!! Talk about inspiration... I am on day 8 and feeling stronger ... thanks for sharing! Nicole
-
For some reason your picture cuts off to the right , so I cant see what your 'after' shots look like which is disappointing because I am on Day 8 of the shred right now and I totally want to see how you did! Is there a way for me to be able to see these pics? It doesnt sound like anyone else is having a hard time seeing…

-
You look amazing! Congrats!! How tall are you? You look great!!

Running and Spinning!!! AMAZING cardio workouts... I burn WAY more calories doing those 2 things than any other class, exercise so far. And the high when it's over is unbelievable!
-
stupid question I'm sure... but the calories is the chicken only right? Add in whatever extra for the rice I assume? Sounds delicious.

I couldn't agree more with this statement!! It is all in your head for sure... I have started running and I recently ran for 31 minutes no stopping.. that was a major accomplishment for me, I can't wait to be able to go for 60 minutes!! I actually could have kept going, but only had a short time to workout that day. I…

i have a timex watch type hrm and basically the more you test your hr the more accurate it is. i have my finger on that sensor probably once a minute! how often are you checking your hr while working out? do you just turn it on and forget about it? i would recommend trying to test your hr as often as possible. i am…

LOL!! that is hilarious!! I just got mine a few weeks ago and that was the first thing that came out of my husbands mouth! The only problem is mine is a watch HRM not the strap, so I'd have to be constantly putting my finger on the watch face to get a proper reading, and I dont know about you all but I like to keep my…

LOL! Yes, that is definitely what I should do! There is a pilates class tomorrow, I think I'll check it out. At least until I can get in to see my Dr. Nicole
-
No I don't but that's a great suggestion, I am also going to wrap it with a tensor bandage for now. Are you able to work out with the brace on?

i have recently starte running myself! i love the 'runners high' that i get after a run! i started small, i mapped a route through my neighborhood about 3kms to start. its great to see my time improving and i've eeven got a 2nd run that is a little longer that i try to chamge things up a bit. i always hated running, but i…
