  • Thanks pchca. Yeah I have a feeling that fitbit may be sabotaging things. I'm probably going to do the same thing as you.
  • *doesn't synch
  • Yeah it gives me 1440 without exercise. The same as before. My total calories jump to 1800+ a day due to fitbit but there's a possibility that increase is false. I have noticed since Christmas that MFP is having a hard time synching with fitbit. Either it doesn't fit or it double credits. I tried to ignore those credits…
  • Hmm... it's possible my calories are off. (Like I said they seemed high. But I wasn't sure because I'm obese and burn more than normal during workouts.) Maybe I shouldn't eat back all my exercise calories and should only eat half.
  • Strength (2 reps of 20 for all, everday): Squats, Side ab crunches, situps, pushups, bicycles, and inner legs raises Cardio (everday 30 -45 minutes): Zumba, salsa, hip hop. I have a list of around 20 songs and choose them at random until the time is up. On average my fitbit has me burning around 400-500 a workout.
  • I log every meal. I meal prep every sunday and input meals beforehand and change as I deviate. I tried adjusting MFP but the calories came out the same.
  • I have a personal excel sheet. I weigh myself and map the trends. I also use MFP's tools. I update every Friday (if there is a change.)
  • I've logged for 194 days. I mean I'm 25 lbs down, it's just that I'm...stuck. I thought about decreasing by 200ish calories, so eating 1500-1600 calories, but that would mean that I wasn't netting at least 1200 calories, which I heard was bad.
  • Thanks. I'm thinking of going with fitbit's numbers.
  • Sent a friend request. Anyone else can feel free to add me too! I have roughly 100 to lose too. lost 24 so far though :)
  • 5'1 and had around 100 lbs to lose too. Lost about 24 lbs of it though!
  • I'm also getting serious this year about my weight loss journey, so feel free to friend me :)
  • I personally just used mfp BMR's calculation which was 1550. Then MFP set my daily calorie intake as 1400. However, all the sites I do my TDEE are 2500+ calories even sedentary. I feel like that's way too much. I tried 2000 calories and thought I was gonna die.
  • I redid my MFP Calorie calculations using sedentary and I'm at 1400 net calories which seems A LOT Better. But MFP told me that my BMR is 1522 so yeah...I'm confused lol. I'm supposed to eat less than my BMR?
  • I have a question though. Are the calories given by MFP including workout calories lost, or do I have to eat back those calories after working out to get to my end weight. Also I readjusted my calculation and MFP thinks I should be eating 1450 calories a day which seems not as drastic
  • So Harris Benedict is more accurate. MFP has me at 1700 calories a day, but I'm not sure if that's NET calories or the amount I can eat without eating back workout calories.
  • Is 2000 too many calories? I keep getting mixed responses. The thing is I'm really heavy. (180 lbs) but I work out everyday for about an hour of intense cardio as well as walk 1.5-2 miles a day since I have no car. My TDEE came out around 2500 calories and my BMR is like 1650. Urgghhh this weight loss stuff is tricky.
  • Thank you!!! I have to figure out how to open my diary lol. I guess I am a little intense about weighing often. I just thought that if I was slipping, it'd be better to catch it early. I will stick with 2000 calories and see how my body reacts.
  • I'm with you on this one. Today, I started eating at my TDEE-20% which is roughly 2000 calories and apparently I gained 1 pound. Idk if it just takes a while since I was eating and plateuing at 1200 calories, but I'm 5;1 and feel like this is a lot of calories for someone my size.
