Ugh, I hate that protein is a thing. American diets are so heavy in protein--we (and our kidneys) do not need supplementation. I was in the hospital last week for an intestinal blockage from PROTEIN SHAKES. Just...ugh.

It can be, yes. It has the potential to create an obsession with calories and food intake. There are lots of people on here who have eating disorders that are fueled by the sense of control the site offers. I'm not bashing the site, but it's an unfortunate reality. Edit: That being said, MFP seems to make an effort at…

Jesus, I love the hypothetical "Person Number 1." Really. Seriously, though, the more negative effect it had on me was psychological. Tracking my calories became pathological, as I became obsessed with the caloric count of every single thing I ate (read: obsessed). The more obsessed I became, the more I would have a…

Sweaty Dude, is that a shower selfie? hahah

I think the amount of exercise you're doing is sapping your appetite. It happens to me a lot. The problem that can happen, though, is that you go the entire day hardly eating and then you end up inadvertently binging at night because your body is like, "Hell no, you need to give me calories now." That's caused me to do the…

8.275. I like the observation of pink lips over gigantic tattoo :)

Seriously. Be still my anthropologist heart.

Good for you! I did the Whole30 (half-assedly) while I was able to CrossFit. It was an epic failure haha (in fact, I'm back to being vegan because of the shock to my system it caused). I'm glad to see you had such great results!

You'll get stronger. Just be aware of your limitations, like loose joints. If you are hyperflexible at all in your shoulders, be careful with overhead movements. I dislocated my shoulder once from a strict shoulder press, and I now have four screws in there. Before that, I was doing Olympic lifting. You just never know.…

Probably that I'm an art school hipster. I'm an archaeologist with tattoos, which I guess is pretty close.

All I have to say in response to this is: Dear. God.

Avid-pro-American-football-fan. Yep, that's a word.

Lifting heavy is one of the best ways to "tone" muscles. I learned that first hand while Olympic lifting. It's a very, very common misconception. Unless you're training voraciously or taking steroids, there's a decent chance you won't 'bulk up.' Edit: This is directed more toward women, but it goes the same for men,…

Re: People scared of maintenance. I lost 85 pounds a few years ago, and I've put on about 10 from medications, but that's only been recently. It isn't as scary as it seems. Just be vigilant and everything will fall into place :) Edit: And by a few years, I mean about five.

You look fantastic, and I'm sure you feel it, too. Good for you!

Somewhere where we can wear bikinis all the time.

Hahah, I love the conditional aspect of this

I'm 27. Does that count? Plus my boyfriend has four kids and a vasectomy. I am in constant pain over the realization that I may never have kids/another marriage (I'm part of that sad statistic). Oh well. haha.

Men in suits are pretty sexy.

I like faces better, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say handsome.

Nice but sassy :)

I had to stop MFP for about a year because it made me obsessive to a pathological degree. Do what you feel is best for you. There is no way you will be able to stick with anything if you are affected psychologically, and it will start interfering with your everyday life. I hate to sound dramatic, but it can be true.

This isn't meant to sound judgmental or BE judgmental, but it's genuinely surprising to me how many people consume soda. Really--it's mesmerizing. Good on all of you for getting rid of that crap. And if you haven't, that's cool, too. Moderation in everything, right?

A bit of Lucille Ball...the hair at least :)

Gained weight after divorce, lost weight after break up from the guy I dated after. Emotions are a weird thing. I've rebounded big time, and I really have no idea if/when it'll come off.

Yoga is best at helping to reshape/recompose the body--it has the potential to burn a ton of calories (see: hot/bikram yoga), but most forms are generally not considered weight loss exercises. It is, however, great at gaining flexibility, mobility, stamina, strength, and other things that enhance other areas of exercise…

I lost 85 pounds, but because of the elasticity of my skin due to age (I'm 27 now), my skin bounced back well. Except for in my belly a bit. It's frustrating, but I've had to learn to just move on from it I guess.
