My fiance (we've been together 5 years) and I have been on here for about 2.5 years. It has been such a helpful experience because we both plan meals together and have the same idea about eating out- we both look at the menu before going or decide to eat somewhere healthier. We don't work out together, but we will walk…

Hahaha I have a ritual now. I think the lower in weight I got, the less I weighed myself because my weight fluctuates much more over little stuff I don't know why. Now it's about once a week or every 2 weeks. When I was heavier I weighed myself about 2-3 times a week, when I was heavier my weight remained pretty…

"You should straighten your hair more, it makes you look skinnier"- exboyfriend when I was 17, at the high end of my bmi.

I know what you mean. I'll have a bad weekend where I eat out and go out drinking and eat icecream. I don't even look at the scale come Monday after those weekends anymore because I'll go up 3-4lbs easy. Usually it takes me about 4 days on average of eating good and healthy, working out, and drinking water to go back down…

I have been diagnosed with PCOS. You should get checked. Typically the doctor will do a blood test to check the hormones (your testosterone levels included, that's usually the acne and facial hair) and I had an internal ultrasound done my Dr. showed me the screen- it almost looks like your ovaries are swiss cheese lol,…

Hahaha these are funny :D I run through the plats behind and around my apartment complex. I often times have an audience (elderly sitting on their porch or children playing) and for some reason, I have no idea why except I must have not taken enough time to wake up before my run- I trip and fall. This wasn't some 'oh hehe…

I was excited the day I realized when I laid down that my hip bones actually poke out. I seriously could never see my hips like 50 lbs ago- as a belly dancer this was super exciting lol

This is alarming. Because there is WAY more to marriage than appearances. You have to stop and think, what if one of you get sick or disabled? It's the marriages that are in the foundation of unconditional love that can tackle these issues. Is this a partner you can trust to take care of you in your worst because you have…

I found this really interesting thank you for sharing. I have PCOS + IR too, and I noticed when I went onto this site that while I did this with a friend, she lost more quickly than I did. Though I'm in my BMI and really healthy now, I'm noticing a HUGE struggle in these last 10 lbs to my goal weight. I chose another route…

Thank you for sharing your story. It is so easy to get caught up in the satisfaction of losing another pound, I get caught up in it all the time. Losing slow has been a godsend for me though because the weight really does stay off- I go home for xmas and eat like crap for a week straight and the scale didn't budge. There…

You know I find when people make excuses and such frustrating and annoying too, but I don't think this article condones that mentality at all. Looking at something that is completely unrealistic for myself is not motivating, it honestly just makes me feel worse about myself and frustrated at my own body. This isn't a…

I really liked this because I think at some point many of us on this site can agree with it or relate to the message he is sending. Coming to this site, I had this goal for fitness, and so far I've lost 44 lbs, and I'm in my BMI- I'm 9 lbs away from my original goal. Honestly, some days I get caught up in the mentality…

YES! THANK YOU!!

I usually leave between 100-300 calories a day. Mainly because I do a few little things that don't make it onto my diary. Mainly at work if someone bring in homemade bread or treats, I'll take a little piece or my coffee (I don't count how much creamer I put in). But I also walk 10 minutes to and from my car at work, and…

This ^^. I'm between 8-10lbs (my weight fluctuates by day) from my goal weight. It was when I was 12 lbs away that I got HORRIBLY slow. It takes about 2-3 months to lose about 3 lbs now. I was so frustrated and then I read that it slows down a lot when you get closer. I also noticed that as the smaller I get/or lower…

I'm on your same boat. I do a 1 hour "gym" workout 4 times a week. I lost my first 40 lbs with just cardio. Though I feel I look great, I want to avoid that "cardio loss" look that I see sometimes, I decided to add 20 min of weights after my 40 min of cardio, You can still have cardio be the bulk of a workout, just find…

Oh! And for spotting- That happens a lot on bc. I've been on several different kinds (I have endo and PCOS so I'm a connoisseur at this point of bc lol) and I've spotted depending on the kind. Those pills that stop your period for months on end, yeah I spotted for months. It's all about hormones. If my pills are too high…

You have to find a way to just let go. The pill is 99% effective- when used CORRECTLY. Those horror stories where "everyone knows someone who got pregnant on the pill" yaddah yaddah is crap. They either missed one pill, was inconsistent, on an antibiotic (which reverses effects of bc), or didn't let the bc work up in their…

First of all, thank you for sharing your story. I think it is normal for you to gain that weight even on that few calories. When a person starves themselves, the weight tends not to stay off unless that person continues to starve themselves. They mess up their metabolism. I would suggest being patient and continuing to…

I agree with you somewhat. I know I have a really big peeve when someone was like 'I totally binged' and literally ate like 3 cookies. But at the same time, I think a binge is defined by the person partaking. The only thing coming to mind for me is for some reason when I crave chocolate (which I don't keep in the…

^^This! OMG I've been stuck for 2 months now, it's that last stretch that gets ya! I have 12 lbs to go til my goal weight! I upped my workout by 20 min, (I lost 41 lbs only doing cardio and calorie deficit) so I added weights. Hopefully this will be the push I need to finally push into the 140's! :D

Actually bingeing is a SYMPTOM of the disorder, not the actual disorder. Many in this thread are using the term correctly.

I don't think you quite understand the concept. It's like that really petite person who looks kinda mousy and never worked out a day in their life (I know a few of these)-ectomorph; I always compared mesomorphs to like soccer girls and guys, that "average" middle of the road body type, and endomorphs at the person who…

I'm sorry, but you are generalizing. I think there are many people with this syndrome, but you have obviously never struggled. I struggled for over 4 years gaining weight and not being able to lose, I was even hospitalized at one point because people like you made me think it was me so I eventually ate too few calories.…

I found this funny but I'm not sure I appreciate the stereotyping- PMS used to be in the DSM pretty much because of the reinforcement of this "women are crazy on their periods" stereotype. Yeah, I can admit I'm *****y on my period, but no where near homicidal. Also I read a study in undergrad about how PMS symptoms…

Hot Head Burrito, Fried pickles, 5 pounds of reece cups... And wash it all down with a chocolate stout >:)

People need to loosen up in this thread. It's only proving my point XD

First of all, awesome you're doing Zumba!!! I can't do Zumba because my knees will most likely dislocate (I have many problems w/that) But I am a belly dancer and the hips move that way through your legs/knees and how to place your balance on your feet. If you want step by step instruction, take up a belly dance course…

^This! Same for me! I think I might add weights soon, but you don't HAVE to, exercise is like religion, everyone in here thinks their way/philosophy is right, so stick to what works for us!
