I do lots of Leslie videos too. I am pear shaped and don't really want to make anything bigger since the legs have the largest muscles... anyway, I find that they tone my lower body rather than building it. And there isn't a whole lot of impact.

I have a Polar F7 - Woman's but on the settings it has a male/female choice then you enter your weight and height . I think it's more color preference than anything.

How do you know you are just burning a couple of hundred calories on your walks? Are you using a Heart Rate Monitor? You might be under estimating your calories burn.
