Please add me! 47 years old, it took me 8 months to lose 60 pounds. That was 2 years ago, and it is just as hard to keep it off, but it is worth the work!! The more support the better!

I teach elementary school. I spend the majority of my day on my feet. I didn't used to. I use to try and make time during the day to sit. I now have a fitbit and love seeing how many steps I can take throughout my day.

If you are still losing weight, you will continue to slowly lose fat all over including the backs of your arms. Strength training will increase the size of your muscles but will not eliminate fat, (but you are burning calories while you are training, just as doing any other kind of exercise.) Since you are new to the gym…

I have lost all of my weight and I am now trying to maintain my healthy weight. I have to say that I am still hungry a lot of the time. I think it is because I am burning a lot more calories from strength training and other exercise. I am working on gradually upping my calories while trying to maintain my current weight.…

I think you can choose not to track sugar if you don't want to. Go to your settings and it lets you choose what you want to track. I know you can do it on the computer, not sure about the smart phone and Ipad apps.

I do this too! Sometimes it changes as the day goes on, but I do my best to stick to it. I also allow myself a maintainence day once a week (Saturday), that I eat an extra couple of hundred calories. It helps me during the week to stick to it, knowing that I have Saturday to look forward to a little treat. Saturday is also…

I feel your pain. Happens to me all the time. I was once waiting for a machine while a girl and a guy had a 20 minute flirting session while she sat on the machine doing nothing. When the flirting session was over she began her reps. Sooo annoying. I too rely on the common curtisy of others bc I am non-confrontational for…

Ok, I have been in your position so many times! I would have this deadline for an event and I would think about how much weight I could lose before my deadline, and it NEVER worked! The reason -- I was going to try and lose weight for other people. If you are not truly in the right state of mind to do this, it won't…

Always had poptarts growing up. Usually frosted cinnamon, loved them toasted or not toasted. I did go through a chocolate poptart phase as well, but in college the frosted cinnamon two pack was my go to food. 75 cents a pack! Haven't had a poptart since college, never bought them for my kids. They are all grown up now and…

My butt bone hurts from sitting. Anyone else have this problem. The only good part about that is that it makes me get up and move. I am also a lot colder than I used to be as well.

Hi Tami, I hit my goal weight of 145 about 1 month ago. I started January 3, 2012 at 201lbs and I am currently at 141lbs. I find your story very inspiring and I hope that I can deal with injuries and set-backs the way you have. You are so right when you say that losing the weight is the easy part and keeping it off while…

Based on my own weight loss it looks like you are eating (1400-1600) and exercising about right for weight loss at your age. If you burn more than 500 calories in a day from exercise, you probably should add 100-200 high protein calories back into your food for that day. Try this for at least 1 month and see what happens.…

I completely agree!! I complained about the same thing after I dropped my first 20lbs. Then after I dropped the next 20 I was down two sizes and well on my way to the 3rd size! Don't get discouraged and pull out the measuring tape and you will have proof that the inches are coming off! Good luck!

Sugar has been the hardest thing for me to control. At first it was not even one of the food groups that I was tracking, but when I did start tracking it, I discovered how little of it that I am supposed to have daily. I still go over my limit almost everyday, even though I am under in almost every other catagory except…

Strangest thing happened when I moved. We lived in the same community for 14 years while we were raising our kids. We had a beautiful rec center that we belonged to and my kids went there all of the time to play and work out. I tried going but I would always run into people that I knew and I felt funny exercising in front…

It really depends on your height and your starting weight. When I first started and punched all the numbers in, it said that I should eat 1200 cals a day. I eat that amount probably a couple of days a week but for the most part I am at between 1000 and 1100 per day. I burn an extra 500 - 700 per day during my workouts and…

Jennifer, I am about your height and I have lost 33lbs since January and have a solid 25 to go. I have come to realize during this journey that these jump start diets that have you loose 10lbs in the first two weeks just don't work for me. I have kind of adopted the lastest quit smoking plans that allow you to smoke while…
