I would also recommend Nashbar. Check out their clearance items. You can find great deals on items that they are down to one or two sizes in.

My weight loss. And I never get tired of hearing it.

Way to go Rob! Happy for you!

Did Mick also ask for Obama's autograph?

Good points. He s not forced. He begs to train with me.

I'm in Tullahoma. Not too terribly far from Chattanooga.

Very nice ink, Goose! Congrats on your accomplishments!

Was a little confused if this should go here or on the "Ride Reports" tread, but since it involves achieving a goal, I figured I would post it here. I am SICK OF WINTER. Although Tennessee winters are quite mild to those north of us, they are also quite wet. Wet plus cold equals no riding for me. My only goal this year is…

Welcome Matt! Everybody is different. I am 6'1" and, two years ago, I weighed 293. I decided to lose some weight. My original plan was to get down to 230. I started out by walking and then jogging after a couple of weeks. I found that I hated jogging, so I bought a bicycle. After I started cycling, the weight dropped off…

I am pretty much at my ideal weight. I use the site mostly for the calorie counter tool an for the social element.

This X 10. My father was a suicidal alcoholic. Put us through hell. One of the best things that ever happened to me was that his third suicide attempt was successful. Sounds harsh, but that was when the physical, and emotional, abuse finally stopped. My mother wouldn't leave him, no matter what he did to me.

I am seriously addicted to that show.

I don't try to set a goal in the winter months due to the cold and the rain. I am just content to get out and ride when I can. So far, I have only had two outdoor rides this month, but I am hopeful that will soon change. Here are my rides/activities so far: Feb 1 - Spin Class - 10.00 miles Feb 3 - Spin Class - 10.00 miles…

I did a 95-mile bicycle ride Friday and ate a bacon cheeseburger as my reward. It has been a long time since I'd had any kind of non-turkey bacon.

I am strictly a roadie and most of my rides, I would say 90% of them at least, start about an hour before sunrise. I am fortunate to live in a (mostly) rural area that has a very active cycling community. For these predawn rides, I have a NiteRider 650 lumen headlight that is so bright that cars often flash their…

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I lost 121 pounds a couple of years ago and am roughly at my ideal weight now. It fluctuates a few pounds, usually after a carefree weekend. I use MFP primarliy for the calorie counting tool. I also like to read of other people's successes.

I didn't know of MFP in 2010 when I set out to lose weight. People would ask me what I did to lose weight and I would always tell them that I cut out red meat, fried foods, sweets, and soda and worked out for up to 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. That was all true. I busted my rear end to make the change. I would hear from…

Great start! I was where you are a couple of years ago myself. Stay committed and focused and you will succeed.

Congratulations on your decision to become healthier. Having people "in your corner" definitely makes a huge difference. Good luck!

Funny, I wouldn't buy a used car from me. I know nothing about used cars.
-
@CoryIda -thanks! You are wearing my favorite color.
-
@keg619 - thanks! That is very sweet. @Melanieg - who is your comment intended for?
-
Looks like a happy couple!

I'm guilty of this myself from time to time. I love ice cream! Add me if you'd like.
-
That's horrible! Your family will be in my prayers.

Decided to relieve the week's stress with a little pedal therapy today. Mapped out a 107-mile ride and loaded it to my Garmin. I am out-of-town for the weekend, so I'm not very familiar with the roads on my route. The first 33 miles were awesome - very little traffic and gentle rollers. I ran a 17mph average up to that…

It's been about ten years, but I think I am ESTJ. I am a CPA and the Chief Financial Officer at a bank.

Tina - nice looking family and a beautiful beach

Hti the Silver Comet Trail in Smyrna. It goes all the way to Anniston/Weaver, AL and is mostly flat (except for a short span in GA). Great Rail-to-Trail project and very well-maintained.
