Glad to hear you are enjoying the program so far. 5/3/1 is just a very basic introduction to intermediate lifting programs. You can tweak it so many different ways to make it more or less challenging as your needs/goals change. I'll be curious to see what your thoughts are on it after a few cycles. Say 12-16 weeks.

I use Converse myself. Some people prefer a harder sole. You can get a very inexpensive pair at Walmart that are knock of Converse to try out. If you want a harder sole you'll need to come to terms with spending about $80-$150 on Olympic/crossfit style shoes. If your stand is only shoulder width, I'd try moving it out…

Interesting thread. I'm also a proponent of using DUP methods while creating a program. I train 3x/week full body. I've made the best strength gains this way.

Your depth looks decent for just getting back into things! Here are a few things I notice.... 1. Get different shoes to squat in, something with a flat sole and un-raised heel. 2. Hard to tell your leg stance but you may want to go a bit wider as you're doing a low bar position squat. (this will also engage your hamstrings…

In the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant. Focus on a weekly average of calories. Your body doesn't just turn on and off like that. It doesn't matter if you're over 300 calories one day and under 300 calories the next. The overall net was your maintenance.

Look up the "TRAP Workout" station on Pandora under workout genre. It's one of many stations I like. I have a custom 90's hip/hop & beastie boys station I made too.
